Have been a semi-regular, loyal customer of Terranova. Pizzas have always been great. Often struggled to get in on a Friday night but was surprised on Friday 19th July when me and my two kids arrived at 6.40pm to find the backroom empty (the proprietor opened the room up for us) . We ordered drinks and our meals at 645pm. (Our server thought bruschetta was a pizza btw) . After about 20 minutes I wanted another drink and had to walk out the front order it - seems we got forgotten out the back. Anyway, the clock ticked around to 740! - no pizzas no bruschetta. I asked the server what was happening. She returned saying the pizzas were "just going in the over now" - ready in 10-15 mins. Was advised that they were "busy". Over an hour to put into the oven!!! I went to the front counter and spoke with the owner and asked why we were waiting an hour for the pizza to go in the oven. I didn't get any apology but she made the following points to me very clearly: 1. I clearly didn't understand how pizza ordering was handled. Not really sure what this meant. Isn't it as simple as I order and they make in a reasonable time? 2. I was advised that I needed to understand that they do a big takeaway/home delivery business and that all orders (takeaway and eat-in) had to be handled in order. Really? Someone sitting at home watching Netflix is the same priority as someone who comes into the restaurant? Maybe that explained the empty back room and a dozen or so patrons in the front by 745pm. Having someone wait for an hour is just not on guys. If takeaway is a priority then have a sign on arrival which says minimum wait 1 hour. Or just do takeaway. 3. Something about the capacity of the oven. My oven capacity skills are not that good but if its too small, buy a bigger one. 4. "I have you know I run a successful business etc". In short, no apology offered. Customer wrong. Owner right. She thought a one hour wait was fine. We paid for our drinks (no offer to waive that cost and left. We live local but won' be back. We'll drive and go to Cornerstone (average wait is 20 mins when when they are...
Read moreI don’t understand what all the fuss is about here, I just tried this pizza for the first time and I can no way justify all the up talk and high prices it’s just regular pizza shop pizza but with out much taste, the pizza I had was same texture as a Costco $2 slice cheese pizza but as much as I don’t like that Costco pizza I have to admit it does have a taste to it, might not be a taste for everyone and definitely not for me but there is a taste there. Terra nova pizza lacked taste, was almost tasteless if I have to be honest. Yeah it’s edible and fresh but so are many others but with out the high end price tag. I didn’t think it was anything special the way people make out it is. When I pay $26 for basically a Margherita I’m sorry but I expect it to be Amazing!! Instead I got below average, sorry guys that’s my opinion take it or leave it I won’t be back...
Read moreI've been there quite a bit, great pizzas flavour wise.
Some people complain about the price, but if you go to Lygon Street you pay more for less quality, so don't complain about that.
Pizzas taste great, they don't kill it with cheese and the base is fantastic. My only disappointment is the sizes of the pizzas, only one size. It's a good size for most people, but for me, I have an endless stomach when it comes to pizzas, I reckon I could eat 2. But that' just me.
Pros - Flavour, good amount of cheese, quick, take away and eat in, it's nice in there too, good atmosphere
Con - More of a personal one, maybe a...
