Despite what the sign says, this is actually a small Malaysia restaurant tucked away in a quiet row of shops on High Street Road. I haven't tried their main dishes so I cannot comment on those. My family visited once for lunch and we ordered hawker style food.
The food was actually better than I expected. We ordered pan mee and hainanese chicken rice. The pan mee was hand-torn and they were tendered. The broth was very flavoursome. I wish the ikan bilis was more crispy the way I make them at home. They used spinach which was good. The hainanese chicken rice was comparable to that of Petaling Street in Glen Waverley which is now closed. The chicken was smooth. The ginger chilli could be better but it wasn't bad. The serving of both dishes were smaller than average.
It was a busy day so we waited for 15 minutes or so in the queue. Once we sat down and ordered, we waited another 30-40 mins. Probably not a place I would visit if I was in a hurry.
Overall, 4 stars. For $12 we got a meal with a cold drink each. Good value. I would recommend people to come and try...
Read moreMixed review but I can assured you mine won't be.
Place looks clean and love that menu photo at the front which gave us a glimpse of look what's on offer before coming in.
The place was packed during lunch time but patrons moved in and out within times.
We ordered quite a number of dishes and I was surprised how massive the serving is. Taste is decent and looking back the review I cant understand the "salty comment" on this eating place. The only thing salty is some people attitude i think behind the keyboard 🤣
Nasi goreng - good but lack of heat of spiciness (will ask for more chilli next time) Roast chicken rice - fragrant rice and juicy chicken love it. Sambal fish - I'm quite particular with fish dish but I have found the fish served is quite delish. It's flaky, not dry at all and the sambal sauce complement it very very well
Price is on point. Parking plenty.
Will i be back again ? For sure as I'm now craving for that steamed chicken...
Read moreHad the Friday lunch special menu soup pan mee and stir fry beef noodle with a complimentary drink for $12.90 each set.
Busy for lunch hour and service /wait time brought back memories to Malaysia, similar to smaller laid back town . Atmosphere with newly refurbished, simplicity and clean.
Food were served at a slower pace , quality /taste passable as home cooked with not much expectation, however serving portion is slightly smaller but for $12.90 nowadays due to inflations??? More Profits ??? Higher operating costs ??? It is up to your interpretation….keyboard warriors would tell you off and back up with many reasons to justify their position for the price / quantity.
May return to try the ala carte dishes for dinner but there are some restaurants , you will be eager to return sooner but this …. We haven’t had that ‘urge’ yet ….. maybe soon or...
