Paloma Pizza & Pasta Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

Poorly serviced pizza shop that is in desperate need of a renovation, proper ventilation and proper deep clean as the pizza counters and dine-in areas were filthy. Toilets were in horrid condition and I’m not sure how this place is still standing as the whole shop constantly looks like it’s about to fall apart.

I cannot fault the food as it’s pretty good with generous proportions and great takeaway deals. Drinks were disappointing as the drinks were all your standard soft drinks and Australian wine, but no Italian specialised beverages, coffee or wine.

The service was absolutely appalling, with the staff obviously very flustered at the pizza counter which often led to the dining area being neglected. Most of the staff are very rude every time I’ve gone there for takeway and dining, minus the exception of the old man making pizzas. Decided to do delivery once, the delivery driver was 30 minutes later than the time given from the staff that took my order over the phone and when the food arrived, it was in a condition to the point where it was not edible.

Do not come here during peak time for dining and takeaway as the staff seem very overwhelmed and the place is all over the place as it seems poorly managed between the takeaway counter the dine in area, with staff constantly running back and forth.

For an Italian restaurant/pizza shop, this place lacks in Italian authenticity and seems more like a fast...

Only leaving one star because it won’t let me leave zero!

The new owner is very rude. Got our order wrong and refused to make the pizza correctly after 40 minutes of waiting, after being told they would make it again. Instead I had to go and get a refund and the “manager” / chef, very condescendingly apologises 3 times and turned his back on me as I was explaining that the process of choice when it comes to fixing an error that they made was unacceptable. Ruined our dinner by waiting around and a terrible attitude with no accountability from this man.

The prices also have gone up and they’ve removed the family size pizza option. It’s definitely not a breath of fresh air compared to the woman who use to own the business who had great prices, was very friendly and who also use to go above and beyond to make sure the customer was happy.

Will definitely not be going back to this pizza shop after this experience. If it were an allergy issue it could have been extremely dangerous. Make sure your food is as ordered from this place before...

Paloma is a great little Italian place that has most of the traditional dishes and pizzas that you would expect from a suburban restaurant. The servings were huge as you can see from the photos after we tried our best to dig in for 20 minutes. The flavour was spot on for my veal scallopini with white wine sauce. The atmosphere was relaxed and unpretentious.

I would give more stars if they could have the dishes coming out sooner. We arrived at 5:45pm on a Saturday night and had to wait over an hour (almost 7:30pm) to eat after we ordered. The kid was hungry and tired. The other thing is about dietary requirements. I asked for no dairy like cheese and butter due to my skin condition but I could taste butter in the sauce of my dish. I was too hungry to send the dish back.

Overall, I can see that we would go back again, but probably not on a busy...
