Edited: Unfortunately my last few visits have been disappointing. My favourite, hot and spicy noodles, last time didnt taste great, only a bit sour and that’s it. Then another time i tried their kung pao noodles and it was the most bland noodles I ever had in my life, with a hint of honey sauce but I was struggling to eat it, it was so bland. I might not come back ever again. I had been disappointed with many noodle box before. But today had their hot & spicy, it was perfect! Good ratio of meat, veggies & noodles, and most importantly they taste great! Very pleased with this finding. Edited: Went again, tried kway teow which was nice. Also tried their sweet sour pork with rice but wasn’t a fan of the sauce. The pork was nice and crispy, but the sauce was overly sweet, just not a good balance, so won’t order that again. Had black bean noodle which was nice. The colour wasnt so dark (very light for black bean) but tasted nice, generous with beef.
I saw that they revamped the menu, had a lot of new things that are interesting. Tried their Thai pork belly noodles, which is extra a few dollars. It’s basically char kway teow taste with pork belly and vegetables. They nailed the sauce beautifully. And while the pork was nicely cooked, if the skin is crispy, that would have been a perfect meal! Overall happy with...
Read moreThis location has middling potential with numerous drawbacks. The actual food is sub-par. Take the special fried rice for example; it has an excellent variety of ingredients, more than most locations, however the rice used in the dish is cooked unevenly and sometimes even burnt, leading to a subtle ashy aftertaste when it is. The location needs a refurbishing and better cleaning; the tables are sticky with varnish peeling off in clumps. The pricing on the menu is outdated as well, online it lists a small 'Chinese Special Fried Rice' as $10.95, a menu on the doors outside lists it as $12.90, and the actual price when left to pay is $13.95. The variety of noodles as well as the ingredients both available and used is vast, however the execution of any given dish is inconsistent, and when choosing a restaurant you should always judge it by the lowest common denominator. I would not recommend this place to anyone...
Read moreThe food was very disappointing especially considering the price. The serving sizes are the same but the price has increased a lot after the refit. Having paid $24 for the limited edition golden curry katsu rice bowl, I would have hoped the dish was high quality. However the dish was very underwhelming. The curry flavour was nothing special and the rice was plain white rice with some peas and egg. Nothing else and nothing more. The flavour was as bland as you would expect from such a dish. Hopefully the quality picks up again soon as this was...
