I think we just found a new addition to our favorite brunch spots….. North & Eight 😍‼️ Located not too far from the Essendon train station is this local gem 💎 which serves unique brunch dishes ✨

We got: 🍹 Mango Bubble Iced Tea Such a fun drink to have for brunch, who says you can’t have popping pearls in the morning?! 😋 Perfect to pair up with savory food imo 😉

🥤 Northella Houseshake Honestly this drink must’ve came straight out of Andrew’s dream 🤣 It is chocolate & hazelnut shake topped with nutella donuts 🤯 Chocolate lovers dream for sure. What more can you say, this was absolutely incredible!

🥞 Japanese Red Velvet Soufflé Pancakes Such CUTE jiggly pancakes with my fave flavor in the world! 🥹 The cream cheese frosting, nuts, berries and ice creams were perfect toppings to balance out the softness of the pancakes. Definitely worth having a sugar rush in the morning 🤪

🥞 Okonomiyaki with Chicken Karaage I want nothing but Okonomiyaki for brunch from now on 😂‼️ This dish was absolutely stunning, all the elements worked so well together. The subtle crunchiness from the seaweed & enoki mushroom and the more pronounce crunchiness from the chicken & peanuts were incredibly perfect contrast to the soft pancake 🤩

We kicked things off with the five-spice chicken bao, and it was a treat! The chicken was marinated beautifully, bursting with balanced flavors, all snugly wrapped in a bao that had the perfect texture. We were ready to dive into another round of these delicious bites!

We also shared the salt and pepper fried calamari with a green papaya slaw salad. Now, don’t get us wrong, it was good! The calamari was crispy and well-prepared, but the salad felt like it was missing a little spark to really stand out. A zestier dressing or some other element would have taken it from good to unforgettable!

The atmosphere at North & Eight is charming and inviting, perfect for a leisurely meal with friends. And the service? Spot on! The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home.

The right choice to entertain a good friend from Sydney! We stumbled onto this vibrant cafe on Buckley St with plans to just have a quick coffee. Once the menu arrived, the 30 minute stop was extended to hours of good food and drinks in a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are helpful and friendly. Ready to give advise on choices but not pushy. Everything was relaxed. The food? Sumptuous! Crispy zucchini, sweet corn & quinoa fritters, shakshuka and Vietnamese chicken salad to share. Coffee with the right temperature and banana smoothies went down well. Even my son gave their bubble iced tea a thumbs up! Who can leave without having dessert? The choices are endless!
