Pizza Raphael — Restaurant in Melbourne

We used to really enjoy the pizza from Pizza Raphael, the bases were great; never overly thin, over cooked, or soggy but airy and perfect - fine for reheating leftovers the next day. The ingredients were always fresh: juicy fresh prawns on the Raphael Special. Customer service was excellent, if they burnt the pizza slightly or the base was smaller than it should be they would always offer something extra to make up for this shortfall. The quality has changed in the last few months. Garlic bread often burnt. The pizza has a lack of ingredients; our regular Raphael special now has barely any prawns or olives, and the prawns are of a much lower quality. The taste is not as good as it used to be either - lower quality ingredients most likely. From looking at other reviews it appears that the business is under new management who are clearly not prioritising a high quality product anymore. Being a regular customer of Pizza Raphael for many years we are very disappointed about the drop in quality, and will be searching for a pizza shop that serves a better...

Probably the best pizza’s and pastas in the Essendon and surrounding district. Freshly made - you can see them made right in front of you with care and skill.

It’s a small family business and very popular with the locals so can get rather busy, but runs like clockwork - even when busy the system runs smooth.

Still the best pizza, pasta, parma joint, well, anywhere! My friends and family, outside of Raph's delivery area, always look forward to Raph's when they visit! I've lived in the area for 13 years. New owners/managers, but still the same recipes. And just as good as 13 years ago! Biggest parma you will find anywhere.. You can also ask for a special parma.. if you can get it on a pizza.. they will put it on...
