We were invited into Porters Williamstown to experience their delicious menu for lunch. Upon arrival we were greeted by the welcoming front of house and were kindly shown to our table. The interior of the restaurtant is warm, cosy and inviting. We choose a glass of wine each. The 2017 Mornington Circe Pinot noir and the 2017 Mornington Miceli Olivias Chardonnay. Both wines were light and lovely to drink. For our Entrée we had the Taleggio and Jerusalem artichoke galette and the Torched Hiramasa kingfish crudo. The galette was a very enjoyable dish and had nice smooth flavours. The kingfish was silky and had beautiful flavours. Our Mains were the Tasmanian salmon fillet and the Grilled Lamb Rump. The salmon fillet had wonderful flavours. We loved the tortellini, so delicious! The Lamb rump smelt amazing, it was a beautifully tender lamb and had lovely flavours. After enjoying such delicious entrées and mains we were looking forward to trying the desserts. The desserts were chosen for us and they were both perfect choices. The Greek yoghurt Panna cotta and the Beetroot Chocolate Brownie. The Panna cotta was beautifully plated and had delicate flavours. The brownie was absolutely delicious!! We found it to be a comfortable dining environment. The seating is nicely spread out and there was easy listening back ground music. The service was prompt and the staff were happy and friendly. A lovely dining experience. All dishes were beautifully presented. We would definitely visit again. We thank Porters Williamstown for a lovely Sunday lunch. All of our opinions are genuine and are based on our experience at the time of our visit.

Porters is an amazing venue with a lovely interior, genuine friendly knowledgeable staff and great food and drink. We came on the Labour Day long weekend Sunday and enjoyed a three course meal and cocktails. The cocktails were exceptionally made and made especially the Perfect Gin Tonic which lived up to its name. We had been wanting to try the Pampella as an alternative the Aperol so enjoyed the spritz there also. Entrees came out and we went with two of the many seafood options. The salt and pepper calamari was certainly well seasoned and tasty while the garlic and oregano prawns came in a wonderfully complex red sauce that would have been perfect in pasta but equally so on a bed of zucchini ribbons. Ordering mains was easy for me as my mother (isolating in NZ) had posted images of their slow cooked lamb roast they were enjoying making me crave lamb. The slow cooked lamb option on the menu is one you should definitely consider... best lamb I’ve had out in a couple of years. It sat on an ancient grain salad with a hazelnut dukkah, and pomegranates a plenty. KD enjoyed her crispy skinned barramundi also and they did a wonderful job with the polenta, an ingredient I’ve often found to be quite bland. For desserts we enjoyed the dark chocolate almond mousse, which was more cheesecake in its consistency and topped with a black Forrest medley of fruits and jellies. The lemon tart had an incredibly fine pastry and alternating popping a of authentic lemon curd and cream, all covered with torched meringue shards... both excellent ways to end a meal.

From the moment I walked in I knew that this was going to be a special experience. The service was welcoming and friendly. This is a casual fine dining experience in a large restaurant with polished concrete floors, nice lighting and really comfortable seating. For drinks I ordered a tahilk cabernet sauvignon and my partner ordered a pinot noir from Richmond in Southern Tasmania. Both wines were perfect, and there was an extensive cocktail list to match. For entrees I had Garlic and Oregano prawns, w zuccini, feta and pineapple salsa. The prawns were thick and juicy and everything tasted so fresh. It was absolutely delicious. My partners dish was beetroot cured salmon w pickles, avocado cream and rye crisps. The salmon just melted in my mouth, the flavours were so delicate. For mains I had cripsy duck breast w confit potato, pomegranate gel and charred broccollini. The duck was perfectly cooked, w a crispy skin, and pink in the middle. The gel was tasty and the broccollini crunchy and good texture. My partner main was homemade ricotta gnocci, w romesco, kale, almonds and pepita pesto. For dessert we shared some lemon meringue pie which was slightly sweet w a good citrus flavour. Then it was time for some chocolate mousse which was rich and flavoursome, and balanced with some seasonal fruit. Overall this was an amazing experience and this place is a must visit.
