Primrose & Vine — Restaurant in Melbourne

Went back for a second time and enjoyed it thoroughly, except for one thing: We settled in for a lovely night at an outside table; we even brought cards to play and enjoy - the wonderful wine, good food… The host ( Stephen) made us feel quite uncomfortable. We were eating, drinking, enjoying each other but felt rushed and unwelcome by 8 pm on a Saturday night (10pm is the closing time as advertised ) . Wanted to try this place for some wine and food..booking made easy enough..Food had the delicious prosciutto and mozzarella board...Wine ok, sangiovese..The girl serving us was great. Ambience not great love music playing, not a crowd pleaser, not uplifting...so much potential..Great range of wine, until u pay $20 corkage WOW that is so over priced..we were lost for words, but recieved a patronising comment from the owner, "what do u expect, free corkage"..sorry no need for that remark..very degrading...anyhoo sorry won't be bk. Visited as we were passing by with the family, love how a standard drive thru bottle-o has been transformed into a casual but quaint wine 'room'. The lovely lady who looked after us was amazing and so so knowledgeable with questions we had about their wines plus great little random conversations were had when our table was attended to.
