Sakura Inn is a Japanese restaurant located in Camberwell, Victoria, Australia. It is a popular spot for both locals and visitors alike, and is known for its delicious food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. We have a been a few times.
The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with traditional Japanese décor and red and yellow walls. The menu is extensive, with a wide variety of Japanese dishes to choose from, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, and noodles. There are also a number of vegetarian and vegan options available.
The food at Sakura Inn is always fresh and well-prepared. The sushi and sashimi are particularly good, with the fish being of the highest quality. The tempura is also excellent, with the batter being light and crispy. The noodles are also delicious, and the broth is always flavorful.
The service at Sakura Inn is excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to help you choose the right dishes and drinks. The restaurant is also very clean and well-maintained.
Overall, Sakura Inn is a great place to enjoy a delicious Japanese meal. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Sakura Inn to anyone looking for a great Japanese dining experience.

Read moreFirst went to Sakura Inn shortly after they opened about years ago and have returned numerous times over the years. The owner and sushi chef was a Japanese gentleman probably around 70 yo. Most of the wait staff were also Japanese.
The original owner returned to Japan a couple of years ago and the place has gone downhill since.
Most recent visit was last week, and with a 7:30pm booking that made just 4 tables were occupied. Even so, getting served took a lot of effort with all of the 3 wait staff seemingly blind to our attempts to attract their attention. All of the front of house staff and the sushi chef are now Chinese.
To crown off the evening, whilst enjoying a nice after dinner drink and conversation, at 9:00pm they decided to vacuum the floors right next to our table. The vacuum was Dyson and they are a very noisy machine!! A subtle hint that they wanted us to leave, which we did and it will...
Read moreFirst time trying this restaurant. Friends suggested to try as google had 4 star reviews so was expecting a delicious meal.
I had the sashimi bento box and the sashimi did not taste fresh The chicken teriyaki included in the box tasted like it was reheated.
Friends also had similar comments on their dishes (chicken katsudon tasted like it was prepared a while back and then reheated, vegetarian ramen had a very weird texture. I tried the noodles myself and it tasted like it was undercooked dough and had a mushy texture)
Was not expecting this kind of experience considering the high number of stars. This may have been a once off experience but unfortunately has left a bad taste...
