1⃣️sashimi not fresh - all the sashimi is dry like leftovers from overnight. 2⃣️says closing at 9.30pm, but the kitchen closed at 8pm, no hot food available (so does tempura prawn nigiri) 3⃣️the worst servicing attitude I’ve ever experienced which I consider as the most severe problem - waitresses showed up with a dead face and provided no service, not even water. When I kindly asked if I can have the QR code to order, she replied with a super impatient voice”can you wait for a minute? Other than this, i accidentally spilled the drink twice as my winter jacket’s sleeve was a bit big and bulky. I felt really bad and sincerely apologised so many times for causing troubles, they still did not respond and showed a dead face. When my boyfriend took two wipes from the table behind for me to wipe my hands and clothes, one of the waitress said "tissue daijoubu" in Japanese and took the wipes and put them away. I wiped the table and chairs myself, they stood next to me without help, and did not propose to mop the floor, I still sat in the original position, the ground is full of ice and water, my pants are inevitably all wet. When I accidentally spilled the second drink (I’m so so sorry about this), one of the waiters shouted "daijoubu" again then continued chatting without any actions. During the whole process, the waitresses did not offer any service or intention to help, but just stood around watching and chatting. As a loyal customer of Sakura, I felt really uncomfortable and disappointed with the attitude and services I received today. I can totally understand that it is close to finishing the day, and I am very sorry for my incaution. However, as a business that have been ran for many years which locates in the heart of Melbourne city with high charges, shall such services be passed on to the customers? I wasn’t expecting the waitress to clean up the mess and be happy about it, but wouldn't it be nicer to not stand around and talk while I tidy up?

Disappointing dining experience with poor customer service. We used to go to Sakura everytime we want to have sushi train because I personally think its sushi by far the freshest in the CBD and there is a lot of variety to choose from. At first my friend took me here, then I told everyone else and brought my family here very often.  However, we came in on Friday night at 8:09 pm, food quality has definitely gone down. The servive was extremely bad. There was no 'Wait to be seated' signage anywhere and there was just 3-4 people outside so we wanted to walk inside to ask the waitress how long the wait is, and there was one Japanese waitress the minute she saw us before we can say anything, she was rushing us out in the a very rude manner and pointed 'Outside, outside'. And even when there was table, she couldn't be bothered going outside to tell the diners to come in, instead she was still staying close to the register and waving from there expected us to see through a glass door full of texts and come in. The way she waved to us like how one would wave to their pet. If you are not happy to be at work, then don't come to work. If you go to work, then try your best to work properly, especially if you are in customer service, and we are not even unreasonable and angry customers. @Management, please at least put up a sign on the door outside to tell people to wait outside if your staff cannot be bothered to talk to customer or give them direction to go outside nicely. Please train your staffs to focus on their work, stop chatting and put the cover on the sushi dishes on the train, especially with recent news about sushi terrorism to sushi train expereince. Lastly, the Japanese lady as a waitress, does not present herself with high standard of personal hygiene. Hair poses a constant food contamination and so need to be tie back and out of the way, however she still leaves her very long fringe hanging around her face. Will not come back anymore.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at a popular sushi train restaurant, and to be honest, I found the experience to be quite disappointing. While I understand that everyone's tastes and preferences differ, I personally feel that this establishment is overrated and overpriced considering the quality it offers. One aspect that immediately caught my attention was the lack of proper hygiene measures. Unlike other sushi train restaurants I have visited, some plates of sushi were not covered with a lid as they traveled around the restaurant. This is a major concern, as it exposes the food to potential airborne contaminants. I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if someone sneezed or coughed near the dishes. The thought of consuming sushi that may have been contaminated was unpleasant and unsettling. Furthermore, due to the absence of lid covers, the sushi was left exposed to the air, resulting in it become dry and unappetizing in appearance. It is a well-known fact that sushi relies on freshness and presentation, so the lack of a lid cover greatly affected the overall visual appeal of the dishes. This made me doubt the quality of the sushi even more. Considering these factors, I regret to say that I cannot recommend this sushi train restaurant. Despite its popularity and potential allure, the compromise on hygiene and the substandard quality of the sushi leaves much to be desired. There are certainly better options available in the market that offer tastier sushi, maintain strict hygiene standards, and provide overall better value for money.

There were 2 floor staffs at 4:00pm 15/10/2023, one is a girl with bun hair and another is a guy(newbie probably). The bun hair girl was very rude and acted like her period is coming. When we got to the table, we had lot of stuff after shopping, therefore my little sister used one of the spare chairs behind where no customers or tables (because we sat next to bench) to put some of the bags on and some bags left on the floor. Then the girl came without saying anything, grabbed the chair with an aggressive attitude and as if we stole things in the shop.

Next, we had 5 ppl, instead of arranging seats for customers, she commanded that i (the fifth person) was not allowed to sit on the rear of the table because that would block the aisle. I dont know why she behaved like that, if you think there was no table for 5ppl, then dont take customers in and treat us with that rude attitude.

Third, when I asked her for one more pair of chopsticks because the previous one got dirty, she told us that she already gave us 5 pairs initially and acted like why we asked for an extra. I thought i was asking for a golden chopsticks but actually the chopsticks here are disposable bamboo ones and the cost of them are very cheap. And I replied her that i only asked one and thought in my mind that this is even made from bamboo not golden. And I was very shocked with her reaction when customers asked for a disposable chopsticks. This is a very first time in my life facing this situation. Maybe the owner is very selfish and stingy so this is probably their culture. Now i am wondering whether the food or chopsticks and plates are also reused or quickly wipe behind the scenes due to costs saving.

Lastly when I asked for ginger, she was hesitant and said that she already gave us. Oh my god, the price here is not that low, and you counted every single slice of ginger with customers.

My mood was completely dropped after all these things happened. and I cannot feel the food tasty anymore. I just stopped eating and decided to finish our meal earlier.

Really bad and aggressive services and food quality is not as great compared to Sushi Tetsujin in Emporium. I came here due to a recommendation of my friend, otherwise I still picked Tetsujin again.

Maybe we came at 3:30pm so they didn’t want to put more fresh items on the train. Really limited options as no customers grabbed low-cost sushi rolls therefore those plates just stayed on the train for ages and it reduced the freshness and attraction of their products.

Never come back and hopefully the manager or owner will take action to enhance their services. Food quality is not their competitive advantage already, now including poor customer services, at the moment the place...

Have been regularly going to Sakura for years but today is the last day I will ever be going and will make sure everyone I know doesn’t go also. Upon our arrival there was little people inside and no one waiting we was straight in and happy and excited as it’s been months since we have been here. Once we arrived we where shown to our table and told that you have just 1 hr only to eat then you must go as we get busy. I can understand 2 hrs which I have experienced at busier Chinese restaurants like supper inn in the past but 1hr that’s ridiculous. At first we accepted but time went to toilet and ordered it was 15min gone no food and no drinks and we started to say no we can’t accept checking time we can’t enjoy like this. We told staff we leaving sorry not doing 1hr. Absolutely ridiculous and Sakura is more about chasing money then caring about their customers to enjoy a meal and a beverage with no time limit. This is a sushi train if it is a set menu order a pasta, steak or pizza maybe 1hr is not so bad but sushi is a meal you take your time pick little by little over a few beverages not gulp down in record time. We ended up eating Japanese Ramen and was greeted at a busy restaurant close by and was met with exceptional service throughout i evening with no time limit even though a dozen people are waiting outside. Dont get me wrong we don’t sit and drink and chat all night we are ordering non stop food and drinks putting money in the cashier not milking our time in the establishment. If you want a relaxing meal try someone else as being a Local 40years I have only once or twic been told of a 2 hr time limit and like I said that was very popular Chinese restaurants peak time not 5.45pm 1hr time limit. Also if you do go to try Sakura make sure you order from menu not take from sushi train as the food goes round and round in circles all night with not many people taking from the sushi train as everyone that is familiar with sushi trains takes from menu where it is...
