One dish that truly stands out is their Turkish Eggs, a culinary masterpiece that is a symphony of flavours and textures. The perfectly poached eggs, nestled atop a bed of spinach & ricotta borek, are adorned with a drizzle of tangy chilli-infused butter and a sprinkle of fragrant herbs. The combination of the luscious eggs and tantalising spices creates a burst of flavours that is nothing short of extraordinary.
The attention to detail at Sani is truly commendable. The use of high-quality ingredients, expertly combined to create unique and innovative flavours, is a testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs. The presentation is a work of art, with the minimalist aesthetic of the cafe reflected in detailed plating, allowing the flavours to take centre stage.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat is it about poached eggs thatās so hard to get right? I asked for soft runny eggs and was served medium to well done.
I ordered a big breakfast and was served a plate of ingredients squashed together like clowns in a mini. Maybe I should have been happy with the generosity but it didnāt inspire me. Especially as the side of greens I ordered was also plopped on the same plate and they turned out to be the new favorite āsuperfoodā, chewy kale. Can someone pleeeeaase warn customers if kale is being served. Not everyone loves sheep fodder for breakfast. Iām pretty sure theyāre lying if they say they do. Anyway the sautĆ©ed greens was that dreaded curly anti nutrient laced foliage. Umm, no thank you. I also had to send my toast back because it was soggy, as the eggs must have been scooped from the pot to the plate and placed on top of the toast without draining off the cooking water. Why not have a separate plate for the toast? It was baffling. Anyway I definitely do not like soggy toast. After waiting almost half an hour I managed to flag down a lone waiter... where had the others disappeared to? I reminded him about my toast.
By now my coffee was cold and pretty much the rest of the food on the plate was too including the house made unseasoned beans that included another favourite (not) - chickpeas.
And can I just mention that there was something else on my plate called Grandmotherās Ham. It was as tough as old beef jerky and as chewy too. Maybe it was grandfatherās ham. Or leather. I couldnāt be sure. The mushrooms were good but unfortunately I didnāt just order mushrooms.
My husband ordered the confit duck congee. Duck was chewy. And congee resembled a poor version of risotto gone wrong. He was particularly disappointed with the congee as itās a dish heās grown up enjoying and Iāve shared with him plenty of times too and that which was served, was not congee. Needless to say we did not finish our meal but paid the hefty price of almost $80. For real.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a little bit sad to be giving a 3 star review because the food itself was quite enjoyable.
It was an incredibly delicious interplay of flavors. The XO chili scramble is divine. I loved it. I personally think it had such an original flavor profile. The coach to perfection and the prawns were just so good as well.
My friend got the Katsu, which is huge as you can see in the photos, the biggest, most generous serving of Katsu Iāve ever seen in any cafĆ© I think they doused it with a lot of sauce to cover up any mistakes, but it was also a very forgiving piece of meat and I think thatās what they were going for a lot of sauce. A lot of flavor. Wasnāt too dry as well fried really really well.
Now where Sani disappoints me is in the service. I was greeted by a not so happy front of house. I asked if she had a table for three for which she replied. Do you have a reservation? I said no and she just had this annoyed look on her face and it just made it seem like it was the biggest chore to organize a table for me that I had not reserved. My apologies I did not realize I needed to make reservations in advance for a casual brunch place in Brunswick, but that is for another time. She said well Iām gonna have to make a table for you. Youāll have to wait. I mean all of this was fine if we just drop the attitude because itās hospitality at the end of the day so I was a bit disappointed to say the least and quite confronted in the beginning. Throughout the service, she didnāt seem very friendly. She wasnāt really hospitable, Iāve definitely received better service from a BP let alone a cafe. Which is disappointing because I really enjoyed the food, but would I come back? Probably not because it puts me off that much to...
