Read moreI ordered a plain and simple wrap with avocado and as I was eating I noticed a foul taste. At a quick glance I couldn’t see what was causing it and thought it was just a bad tasting avocado or something. But after getting about halfway through the wrap, the taste got worse so I unwrapped it to find rotten lettuce inside. There were some pieces of half brown lettuce which I was willing to pick out and overlook, but as I removed them from the wrap I found completely brown, disintegrating rotten pieces wrapped up inside. It seemed almost deliberately hidden inside the fresh and greener pieces, which is why I struggled to find the source of the taste at first. Needless to say, I felt ill and threw the rest out. Thankfully, I was able to get a refund from Uber Eats but I felt the need to share this experience to make others aware as it’s a massive food safety issue.

I also believe I ate the majority of the rotten lettuce in the first half of the wrap while trying to figure out why it tasted like slimy seaweedy spinach. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with Schnitz serving old, browning lettuce, but this is definitely the first time I’ve ever been sold something that should not be consumed at all.
It’s now 12hrs later and I’m starting to show signs of food poisoning so...

Hey Team thank you for replying. I would definitely continue devouring schnitzel as I like the taste. I understand it has become a common practice to ask about upgrades but if done correctly by advising customers that they would be paying extra for this upgrade, then situation like these could be avoided I hope I made my point clear. Its not about asking the customer about upgrades, its about charging them extra without telling them. I was not asked about small chips at all, i was only asked about regular and large...
