I was there today in the self serve check outs at around 2:30pm. I purchased a $2 birthday card with an envelope. I realised there was a security sticker on the envelope (there wasn’t a security sticker on the actual birthday card). I found it very odd. After purchasing my $2 card, I placed it under my daughter’s pram and walked out. Of course it beeped and the worker ran straight to me. I mentioned it was the envelope and she said that it was normal now to have the security stickers on the envelopes as people steal envelopes…? I told her I didn’t want to walk around each store and have it beeping every time I walk out with everyone thinking I have stolen something. It is very embarrassing. She said that’s just the way it is and she can’t do anything about it. So I said I would return the card and that I was happy to buy a card else where with no security sticker. She then made the effort to stop it from beeping. It upsets me that she was too lazy to do her job from the beginning and rather lie and say she can’t do anything AND make me humiliated. very poor service. I am very put off now from shopping at Big W. I have always felt hesitant to walk into Big W because they have always made you feel like a crim every time you walk out. A few other friends and family have felt the same toward Big W. Your workers need to learn better customer service and be friendlier and more approachable like Kmart and Target.

Was only able to locate one sign at the self serve counter on their coat hanger bin (refer to photo) it says no returns for change of mind .. absolutely nothing about no exchanges . Anywho, staff member even refused to exchange the stained item unless there was the same item in stock and this was only because I argued with them . If I hadn’t of spoken up I would have been walking back out with the same stained top. Update your policy so customers are aware !!! Absolutely appalling .

Despite a commitment of same Day click and collect we waited a full 2 business days to collect some stocked items - toys for our kids. Watch the deceiving behaviour being used by large department stores throughout these times

Seems to be the better alternative to Kmart with many things but it's impossible to get a basketball from here. Sure they may have so many basketballs out there but what I want is a Size 6 Outdoor basketball for under $25. There were two different options between two different Wilson basketballs that were both Size 6 but have different colours. None of them were on the shelves, where the majority of the balls are overstocked in a basket that is impossible to get a good ball out of.

And yes, this store seemed to be more difficult to get other stock than Big W in Altona Meadows like individual Pokémon cards.

I personally don't mind Big W, but it seems like every discount retail store including this one doesn't seem to be transparent with what is in stock online. Even Cash Converters is more transparent with its online stock and people always complain about how dishonest Cash Converters are.

The clothes in the store are good value and seem to become a better alternative than op shops since they're price gouging, while Big W is consistent with its pricing (Altona Meadows would have the same items as this place).

Overall, I'm just disappointed that it is impossible to get a size 6 basketball from here when even Kmart has one style of size 6 basketballs that are out of my budget. When I looked online with what is in stock, one of the basketballs that aren't in this store are in Altona Meadows. But why sell size 7 when that size is the official size for professional players? Is size 6 just becoming...

Pretty good! - I went in today and spoke with a lady, Lorraine, might I say... the BEST employee there, hands down! She was so lovely to talk to, I went in to buy some of the new Lego blind-bag figurines (which are now kept behind the electronics desk)... Lorraine went out of her way to get a few brand new boxes to let me sort through them to get some new figurines. Such a simple act, but wow it made my day!

Not only that, but she was being an absolute boss running that department by herself - while looking after me she was able to help out other people without making me feel as if I wasn't important. Better yet, I know that it is stressful and busy there currently with their mega toy sale on, but I was able to have a nice chat with Lorraine, she was genuinely interested in my hobbies - and even gave me some new ideas!

The store itself was pretty decent - some areas were a bit messy and all over the place - but I believe that can't really be blamed on the staff working... People like to make a mess of things. Everything was easy to find, there were various staff members roaming around ready to provide assistance as well.

Overall, I will most diffidently be returning here for all of my Lego needs!!! - A huge thank you to Lorraine for making my day, having excellent customer service and just being a nice friendly face to see...
