Smokey Den — Restaurant in Melbourne

The food is fine but the service is horrible. While I didn't except it to be like a restaurant, the guy running the shop was trying to rip me off when they are out gravy for a family meal. Every other food outlet/restaurant I've been to, if you ordered something and they realise after that they ran out, they make sure the customer is compensated properly or offered an alternative equal or higher in value to what they don't have. That's not a problem at all. But I was offered 20c for a gravy they sell for $3 and the guy claims that's the equivalent to buying the chicken and large chips separately... No! I bought a family meal, not a chicken and large chips. 2 minutes after I refused the pathetic refund, one of their staff carried a huge pot of gravy out, what's this?!? If I took the refund I would've been ripped off. It's not the money, it's the pathetic attempt at cheating your customers. Go for the food but make sure the well built guy running the shop doesn't try to pull anything...

Disgusting!!!!!! The worst food we have ever eaten ( not eaten) as 99% went in the bin. We ordered 2 chicken rolls, chips with chilli salt (no chilli salt) gravy which tasted like dishwater and we tipped it down the sink. Rolls were hard, chicken was dry and far too much mayonnaise which made it all soggy. Chips had been recooked and recooked and recooked and god knows how long since the oil has been changed. If we could give less than 1 star we would. Disgusting, Disgusting, Disgusting!!!!!!!!!! Be careful everyone these people are scammers.
