Smokin Joes Pizza & Grill Richmond — Restaurant in Melbourne

I'm really confused - as a nurse on 24 hour call at the near by hospital, when I saw that all their chairs and tables were full of young people who had been about town and delivery drivers it sure seemed that I, a young nurse coming off a non-stop 20 hour shift could order some food. But no, when I walked in (literally this evening) to place an order for a pizza with the store looking very open, no 'closed' signs or any to indicate otherwise, I was met with a tall man who did no greet me, nor tell me anything, giving me a put on accent and vague broken sentence to tell me I was unwanted. This man has served me before, I know from my several interactions with him that he is confident with speaking english to me, so I am so confused by his sudden change in character. I had been awake for over 30 hours, I just wanted something to eat before going to bed for three hours. I had ordered from them at this time during the weekend before so I really don't get why he chose to discriminate me this time. I had just stop a diabetic from going into shock. It's a real shame how little the late night places of Richmond care for the sober workers. I will never buy pizza from this place again because his mockery has made me feel so bad. And for what? Mediocre, over priced slop...

OK, I'm out. After a few years of terrible service, average food and finally being lied to and stolen from, I'm out! They didn't answer the phone after multiple calls I jumped in the car and popped down. I saw the staff simply ignoring the ringing phone. I ordered a Pizza, Chips and a Garlic and Mozzarella bread (Focaccia), he specifically asked if I wanted small or large focaccia, I wanted a large. After waiting an extraordinary 40 mins, he presented me with my order and Garlic bread ROLL! When I questioned him why the mistake he said 'this is all garlic bread available today', well I was quite annoyed. Why didn't you tell me that when I ordered? He said don't worry I only charge you for small!!! NO YOU DIDN'T,AND YOU SPECIFIACALLY TOOK THE MONEY FOR A LARGE! After a few minutes of arguing my case he reluctantly offered me the difference in money back, but I wanted a full refund for the bread as I don't even like the rolls and after further heated comments from me and him waiving his hands and wobbling his head and playing dumb I left as was hungry and food was going cold. Don't give them the chance! They don't care and take...

Good restaurant, ruined by a bad franchise. Colleagues and I often order here, and every once in a while there’s an issue. Today however, was the worst. Called up and spoke to a staff that made me repeat my order over and over again. Then 40 minutes later they ring me up asking for the address where it’ll be delivered. Asked to pay through the phone as someone else will be picking it up and the person responds rudely. After I asked why they’re only doing my order then when I ordered 40 minutes ago the person on the phone tells me not to worry about it and that he won’t send anyone. Just a few weeks ago they also messed up our order after waiting for 2 hours to arrive.

Food is good as every Smokin Joe should be but horrible joint, service is out the window....
