Souvlaki GR Blackburn North — Restaurant in Melbourne

My partner and I visited for the first time last week. I had a horrible experience. I can't eat any meat, onions and eggs. When I mentioned this the lady out the front gave me the weirdest look and repeated it. I said yes I cannot have it. she looked angry and repeated again, " onions" and then "eggs" then she reacted. It's like I said something silly and she didn't even take note of it in the system just gave me a pfft are you serious look?? I have never experienced this and mentioned everywhere I go and they either say "sure" or "we don't include that" which would've been nicer and more accommodating to diets and first timers like me.

Anyways not only that, our food we ordered was way, way, way undercooked. The chips were almost frozen and cold as. It was really, really that bad. The souvlakis was great ingredients but wasn't cook right and hardly anything inside - I tasted mostly bread.

I wouldn't recommend this place and plus if you sign up, the voucher is so delayed where there is no adjustments. we visited paying full price even signing up and the staff and team would not assist.

Have been coming here for the past 6 months or so and the quality and consistency of the food is top notch. Souvlaki meat is always tasty and beautifully cooked, the chips are amazing, the desserts ( loukoumades and nutella souvlaki) are so delicious. The Blackburn North store is easy to locate, staff there is always so friendly and helpful (Krissa is so lovely to talk to, as is Alice with her lovely smile, although all staff here are equally great and so well mannered), they do all they can to accommodate your tastes, which is refreshing. If you become a member there are all sorts of great deals, well worth it , and their latest, 12 days of christmas Deal is fantastic for the low priced deals they have going before Christmas. We've been most days to try them out, today's deal was $1 loukoumades and were absolutely delicious! Lovely to take the kids for a sitdown meal or takeaway, consistently great food and service, and delicious Greek soft drinks too (cherry is amazing). Ordered take away from here at 6:30 on thursday 15th of Feb. Wanted to give a huge shout out to all the team working as their service was impeccable. I ordered online and was told my food would be ready within less than half an hour. We had a massive order and I thought for sure there was no way. Sure enough I arrive and all my food is ready to go. Not only that but my order involved some custom changes which couldn't be changed on the website. Sure enough the order was completed perfectly with all the requests.

The food itself was quite nice, the lamb was delicious but my only complaint would be that there wasn't enough on my order considering the price, though I don't believe this to be the fault of any of the staff. Chips were delicious but I would have preferred a bit more sauce personally.

Only other issue I had is that they don't take phone orders and the website was a little tricky to use with some requests needed to be put in as a special note.

I don't hold it against the store though, these are more issues with the chain and upper...
