Sparrows Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

Do not go here unless you want to be ridiculed and judged by members of staff. We decided to come here for my dads birthday yet left 20 mins later due to one of my family members being refused service after 3 sips of her cocktail showing no signs of intoxication. This was then followed by passive aggressive behaviour when trying to explain our situation. I am confused as to how you can serve a cocktail to someone and then refuse service after 3 sips when trying to buy the next round. I have a RSA myself and understand the implications of this however, this was completely unjustified. Don’t come here unless you want to have your night cut short and ruined. Sorry maybe you should check on the lady in the 2nd room passed out instead of refusing service to good...

It was a pleasure to play a Friday nite gig here recently with The Mighty AMA Acoustic Power Trio‼️🎸🥁🎤🔥 we had an absolute ball its a very nice cosy bar very friendly and small but chic a really good atmosphere I think the decor and lighting make this place special the barman Max and bargirls are very nice people and Max poured us some great hazy tap beer they looked after us very well the food was great especially the pizzas theres two more rooms further down the hallway that leads to an open courtyard its certainly one of the gems in the bayside area you will find at 44 Bay Street in Sandringham highly...

To be refused service at 8:45pm after 20 minutes of entry while showing no signs of intoxication from another member of our party was very questionable and disappointing. On arrival also being greeted by below average service from a very young looking bartender and the ‘manager’ (both in tracksuits), this bar has me questioning how much longer they will be in business for, considering we were the only customers in on a Saturday night.
