APPALLING BEHAVIOUR from young male "manager" Unbelievably, this person demanded my 87 yr old uncle (who has dementia, anxiety and walks with a wheely frame) and I leave the cafe as he served a coffee to our table. We had arrived at 2:15 pm on Monday 17th July. It wasn't busy but when asked to order a coffee the young male said he was busy and asked me to come back to the counter in a few minutes. We chose a table outside on the deck. I returned inside to order and pay for a coffee for my uncle. The male appeared frazzled and said he'd had a very busy lunch service - he was in no way welcoming. After 25 mins and no coffee, I asked a waitress who was clearing tables if she could check on the coffee as it could have been forgotten. Another 10 mins went by, my uncle was asking "where is my drink?" Finally the male "manager" appeared with the coffee and I said "At last!" This person became infuriated and demanded "what did you say?" I repeated my statement. He became very angry and shouted that I had to leave at once as I had been rude to him as well as the waitress!! Firstly he insisted that I needed to go and that my uncle stay. I told him this was a ridiculous and preposterous suggestion. He then said "both of you get out now!" My uncle was understandably upset and confused. He tried to leave without his walker which caused him to stumble and nearly fall. A shocking, frightening and inexcusable situation, caused by this so called "manager"!! My uncle used to love his outings to the harbour but has become increasingly anxious and is now refusing to leave his home. I have made 2 attempts to contact the owners of this cafe re this APPALLING incident but they have not responded to...
Read moreI have been to this little cafe once before and their service was good but this morning i went and it was very disappointing.. we sat at a table that still had dirty dishes from the people before us.. they only got taken away 10 minutes from after we sat down. Once they took the previous plates away, the table was very dirty so my partner wiped it down and no one offered to wipe it down properly. Once my coffee arrived, it was the wrong one.. my partner ended up waiting 20 minutes for a strawberry milkshake. Once our food arrive there wasn’t any cutlery on our table so we asked one of the waitresses, she couldn’t find any cutlery as there was a huge pile of dirty dishes lined up with about 4 staff just standing around doing nothing. Once she found some cutlery she forgot which table to take it to so she ended up walking around and gave it to the wrong table ( they already had cutlery so I don’t know what she was thinking) eventually I had to get up and ask for some cutlery and by the time we actually got to eat our food was cold… the floor staff were just very lazy and the “supervisor “ was at the back doing coffees which I feel was very silly as he wasn’t able to manage the floor… very very disappointing and won’t be...
Read moreTook my sister here for her birthday lunch. Got the nourish bowl, and asked for this gluten free as my sister has an intolerance. It was served with a sesame dressing, which tasted like the kewpie sesame dressing (which is yum!) but I am aware this contains gluten. We didn’t mention anything as it’s an intolerance and not coeliac. However, the sheer amount of water in this bowl was insane. Like it would have filled half a latte glass!
The potato cakes were unbelievably oily too and the potato itself was undercooked. Which was super disappointing because it was so exciting to try a gluten free potato cake! Tried picking the batter off and the slightest squeeze had mass amounts of oil dripping out.
We also were sat, and the wait staff checked every table around us, but we were never able to bring this to wait staff’s attentions even when we tried! We heard the table next to us making comments about the quality of the food too but we unfortunately did not...
