Best shakshuka baked eggs I've ever had. One of my local cafes, has now become my new favourite. I often come here for a quick coffee and breaky wrap to go, but recently made the time to dine in for breakfast. To start with, the coffee is always on point, and fairly quick to come out regardless of take away or eating in. My partner ordered the deluxe breaky burger, which came with delicious caramelised onions and what looked like homemade aioli. It's these little extra effort items that I think really make the dishes. My shakshuka eggs were a perfect balance of flavours and ingredients. I wasn't left wondering where my chorizo or fetta was, which I find cafes are often sparse with. This dish came with thin pita triangles which I found worked much better than thick bread, as the meal itself is very filling. There was also a small serve of homemade fresh basil pesto (?) which further complimented the overall dish. My only complaint is I couldn't eat it all, and taking the left-overs home in a cardboard take-out box would not have worked 😅 Great food, great coffee, reasonable pricing, great service and lovely staff. Will definitely be back. Other bonuses - Has both indoor and outdoor seating, dog friendly for the outdoor area. Plenty of parking around as it's part of a large woolworths shopping centre.

My sister and I are regulars of Split Bean cafe. Once we discovered this hidden gem of culinary delights we kept going back! For an unassuming location in Mernda, the chef at Split Bean cafe works with pride and is clearly passionate about his craft. As a Coeliac Disease sufferer the GF options on the menu are extensive and varied. He uses nothing but the best ingredients including GF Precinct bread. Every dish we have is served to you as though you were their very first customer. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. We are so lucky to have this cafe nearby.

Great little cafe that continues to push out great food and service. Today was lunch on a Sunday long weekend. We had the chicken leek and pumpkin pie with wonderful relish and salad side and an ice cold Mango Orange Schweppes. Ice in the tall glass thank you. She had the rosti and avocado stack. Ice coffee. Perfect. Service is always friendly and helpful. A must visit.

A Delightful Café Experience at Split Bean Mernda!

From the moment I stepped into Split Bean Café, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere hit the perfect balance between cosy and vibrant—airy, beautifully styled, yet with a relaxed, welcoming vibe.

I ordered their signature flat white and a freshly baked banana bread. The coffee arrived perfectly steamed with that velvety crema, and the aroma alone was a delight. One sip and I knew I’d found my new go-to café brew. The banana bread was moist, just the right amount of sweetness, and topped with a light drizzle that elevated it to perfection.

What really made the visit stand out was the staff. They were genuinely friendly, greeted me with smiles, and took the time to chat about their ingredient sources—they even recommended a seasonal smoothie that turned out to be delicious. You could tell they genuinely care about quality and customer enjoyment.

The café’s layout is thoughtfully designed for both quick bites and lingering moments, with comfy seating and plenty of natural light. I sat for a while, watched neighbourhood life go by, got some work done, and never once felt rushed.

In short, Split Bean Café delivers outstanding coffee, delicious food, and warm service in a beautiful setting. Whether you're after a peaceful morning pick-me-up or a laid-back midday catch-up spot, this place nails it. A true gem in Mernda—I'll...

Split Bean cafe in Mernda is a hidden gem that promises a delightful culinary experience. As a food critic, I'm always on the lookout for unique and vibrant eateries, and Split Bean does not disappoint.

Upon entering the cafe, I was immediately captivated by its trendy and inviting ambiance. The modern decor, coupled with rustic touches, creates a charming atmosphere that is perfect for a leisurely brunch or a quick coffee catch-up with friends. The staff exudes a warm and friendly vibe, making you feel right at home from the moment you step in.While the food at Split Bean is undoubtedly a highlight, I must mention that the service can sometimes be a tad slow during peak hours. However, it's worth the wait for the culinary delights that await you. Additionally, the cafe could benefit from expanding their beverage options to include more unique and creative selections.

Overall, I rate Split Bean cafe in Mernda a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The combination of its trendy atmosphere, delectable food offerings, and accommodating staff make it a must-visit spot for food enthusiasts in Melbourne. I highly recommend giving this cafe a try and indulging in their...
