STOCKED MALVERN — Restaurant in Melbourne

I've spend hundreds of dollars at Stocked since moving to the area on take home meals and cakes, particularly during lockdown. Unfortunately this morning we had an unpleasant experience which means we won't be returning.

I went to stocked with my partner and two friends, all of which ordered food. They had sold out of what I usually order, no problem, so I ducked across the road to grab something else. I came back to join the group at a table inside and after one bite, was immediately approached and told I needed to leave the store as I wasn’t eating Stocked food, despite all my group still eating.

I said no problem, I’ll eat outside and was then told that I also couldn’t eat at the outdoor tables. Note this is an 11 degree day in Melbourne - I wasn’t taking a seat outside that people were queuing for, it was deserted. So my friends sat outside at the tables and I stood next to them so to not get myself in trouble again.

Really disappointing that they were so unaccomodating and that there is so little community spirit and support for the other local businesses that they felt the need to...

Hi I'm a reasonably frequent shopper at Stocked. It's a very very good Deli. One question for the owner. Tonight I was there just before 4.30pm. Closing time 5pm. All salads and a lot of other items packed up! I selected a salad from a trolley packed up ready to go into storage! I think if you trade until 5pm...you TRADE until 5pm! I really feel for people who work 9 to 5 as they have no hope to shop here to purchase from the great selection of ready and semi ready made meals for dinner. Alas, they will miss out completely! Something about staff issues (?), like so many Melbourne restaurants closing off meal orders between 8pm and 8.30pm...REALLY! What is going on in our city of 5 mill odd (except "Remy" in Glenferrie Rd Malvern...good on you Remy! Open to a decent time...you must have managed to overcome those staffing issues👍🤔 Oh and Romeos, Francois and Chapelis if you like...

Delicious array of food but over shadowed by the terrible service; the younger staff are lovely but absolutely appalled this afternoon by the attitude of the older lady behind the counter. We decided not to purchase the lasagna after we were told the final tally of our shop, and this woman went from friendly to rude and by the end of literally mute. Decided we weren’t important enough to speak to as we couldn’t justify the purchase? We said thank you twice throughout the transaction and she would not even speak to us after we had changed our minds. By the look of these other reviews, she is infamous for her poor customer service- stocked she is...
