Harvie — Restaurant in Melbourne

Me n my girl friends went there for our casual Christmas drinks. We booked two and half weeks ahead and locked in the courtyard . One day before our drinks they send a text saying they have moved us to the roof top. Even though we didn’t wanted the roof top we had no choice but to take the roof top space and mind you it was 35 degrees day and there umbrella didn’t give any shade to this 9 chair seating arrangement. We then requested if we could move and they asked the manager n moved us downstairs and said they will need the place by 7:30 pm which was like an hour n half which was ok but the actual problem which faced was the downstairs lounge. The heat there was unbearable and the Sun rays gets straight on to your face . I just don’t understand how is the team or the owner tells people to sit there when no one can eat sit there and the look on people’s face when they sit there for 5 mins is clearly seen. Harvie , you have a nice bar for this area. You should probably consider not taking bookings at that hour or Atleast have blinds or tint to put it on for that peak hot sunny days and I m not sure if the air conditioning was working in the lounge area and if it was working then it’s definitely not effective . We would have loved to sit there longer if we had a blind to protect us from the direct heat. Pls do consider...

Don't go this bar if you are over 50. You are treated as invisible and staff are not interested in assisting or serving us. Booked for 6.30pm waited and waited but continued to be ignored. Caught the attention of the head waiter but he said the young man behind the bar will look after us. Then unbelievably 4 young women entered the bar area and the waiter behind the bar totally ignored us and attended to them - who did not have a booking. Again I pointed out to the head waiter that his waiter ignored us and attended the women instead. He incredibly said he is too busy and the waiter who ignored us will help us. Then he took the time to move some furniture. Eventually the other bar waiter noticed us and showed us to our table. Mumbled that we order at the bar. We then decided on drinks and food and went to the bar and waited to order. Again a young woman stepped in front of us and the waiter attended to that person first. When we stepped up again and said we would like to order the reaction from the waiter was a shoulder shrug. The bar area was a shambles so disorganized. Waited a further 15 minutes and left in disgust. Have never been so humiliated and treated as insignificant. Never got the chance to try the food or drinks as the service...

So excited to try this place on a sunny, Saturday afternoon. We had the best table and that’s where it ended.. not that great service and anytime we tried to make eye contact or ask for water top ups we were completely ignored by the waiters. At one point in the evening, my partner leant on the table as a normal person would and it completely flipped over and our wine split everywhere . The waiter was unbothered, mentioning that the tables can’t really take the sun or the heat. Mind you that we are on a rooftop, in the direct sun, 4 months away from summer? The waiter barely wiped/dried out table off telling us there was nothing he could do really about it. Half an hour later we were asked to move table so a larger group could sit there. They then proceeded to replace the broken table and then asked us to move back. The waiter mentioning how he’d never seen the old table flip like that before insinuating that we had broken the table. We then asked for the bill, after feeling very uncomfortable and on our way out heard the two waiters laughing about us to the manager!!!! Nice staff you’ve there, you’d think for a new bar in the area they’d be much more respectful of paying patrons. Safe to say we won’t...
