Dear Sweet By Nature I hope this review finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment with the cake I purchased from your shop recently. I have been a loyal customer for quite some time, and I must say that the recent cake I received was far from satisfactory. Firstly, the appearance of the cake was appalling. It seemed as though it was hastily put together, lacking the attention to detail that I had come to expect from your establishment. The overall presentation did not match the standard I had previously experienced. Furthermore, the texture of the cake was crumbly and dry, which made it quite challenging to enjoy. The taste was overpowered by an excessive amount of buttercream, which overshadowed the flavors that I used to love about your cakes. In the past, your cakes were a delightful treat, and the craftsmanship was top-notch. However, this recent experience has left me feeling disappointed and longing for the quality that the old owner Paul and Meagan used to deliver. I understand that changes can occur in businesses, but I believe it is essential to maintain the high standards that have earned you a loyal customer base. Short version. Ordered Caramelicious Babycake, a beautiful, rich cake with balanced sweetness. Highly recommended.

Long version. Ordered over the phone for next day pickup, easy ordering and could pick up next day between 10am & 4pm. I’ve cycled past this shop before but was surprised by a lovely, cosy shop interior with a wide assortment of sweets and cakes on display, savory items, coffee plus board games and toys for purchase.

Picked up a Caramelicious Babycake and a pack of lemon slices. Both were well packed and pick up was a breeze, shop was a nice space to be in. Regret not ordering coffee since we are currently in COVID times so my coffee choices and times are quite limited.

Big plus one for the cake packaging by the way. It’s easy to open and then close up again if you need to travel (this isn’t always the case). It’s also sturdy.

The cake itself is beautiful with each layer showing clearly once cut and served. The mouse and sponge finger layers are delicate and not too sweet with the bottom cake layer and top layer bringing the sweet hit. Even the macaron is well done, crisp and light. Highly recommended.

The lemon slices are great too. Tangy, rich and sweet. These are a long way from anything you’d get from your typical office catering which are often stodgy and lacking any fresh lemon zing at all. Also recommended.

To Sweet by nature, I take offence to you responding to my negative review with what obviously is repetitive narrative/script which you apply to anyone who does not have a positive review of your product or service. I have noticed that you had a very similar written response to another person's negative review. To others reading these reviews, I feel it important to make it absolutely clear that I was not insulting or offensive to staff at your company. What did happen when I contacted your Manager to make a complaint about the product that was offered to me was met with a double whammy when she was unwilling to accept that the product may have in fact being faulty or wanted to further inconvenience me by asking that I transport the cake back to the to your company or pay for postage for the cake to be returned. I understand that products are not always the best quality as was the case with the product provided to me but to go so far as to say that I was rude and left a staff member shaken after a conversation with me is a downright lie.
