Co-worker and I ordered take away lunch today. I ordered onion bhaji (8 pcs) & mixed vegetable pakora (5pcs). Onion bhaji was so dry and hard and the same with spinach pakora. I called the restaurant to let him know my unsatisfactory food experience and the guy said I can throw them out. He offered when I next order, I can get the onion bhajia free. Co-worker butter chicken was too sweet. Not sure if we are going to return here any sooner. The enclosed photo is what I could not eat any more. The whole box of onion bhaji and 1 spinach pakora that I could not even finish without the yoghurt sauce.

We had a good time at the Den, friendly and attentive service ensures your being looked after. Big drawing card are the chefs behind their tandoor ovens in the window to the dining area. This is not a cheap restaurant and a starter alone sets your back >$20. The onion bhajia were a bit dry, Samosas on the other hand well balanced between pastry and filling. Burra Kebap deservedly a house speciality. Curry dishes were on the whole on the mild side, lean meat and fresh veggies. An older crowd of locals who mostly have been coming here for the last 40 years or so. Reservations recommended.

Excellent Indian in Melbournes Camberwell area. The restaurant is quite large which I suspect is great as it would be very popular. We visited on a Wednesday evening and there were many full tables. Entree's are generous served with mint and tamarind chutney. The curries were very balanced. Not too spicy for my white Australian pallet yet still bursting with each individual flavours. Again, very generous serves. It's cool to be able to watch the chef working in the tandoor room. Well worth the trip with multiple options for tram as well as trains. Highly recommended.

Tandoori Den is a hallmark restaurant of Camberwell Junction. The service was great - no problems there. The food I thought was a notch of its best and seemingly things have got much more expensive. $10.90 for a Kingfisher beer? Wow. $41.00 for a mixed tandoori starter? It was really small enough for 2 not 4 people. So 4 stars from me as the value equation didn’t match the serving sizes. Also on our bill we were charged corkage for an extra bottle and two extra Kingfisher beers. Hmmmm.
