Hi. I am writing to “Thank you” for letting me bring a little old lady into your shop today and sit her down there whilst I went to look for her car as she had forgotten where she had parked it after doing some shopping at Coles today (11/05/2018)
Today was pouring down with rain and as i was doing a delivery to one of the restaurants in your vicinity, I noticed this old lady, pushing her walking frame in the car park, in the rain. She was very distressed and very, very wet, so I asked if she was ok and she had explained to me that she could not find her car. I asked her what type of car she owned but she didn’t know, she only knew her car was purple. I initially took her into, Coburg Optical Centre, the store next door to your takeaway, but the lady there didn’t welcome her in, unless she was prepared to buy something! This angered and disgusted me deeply as the lady there had no compassion for this elderly person who was very saturated, very lost and very distressed. So I brought her into your store, Tasty Rooster, and asked if I could leave her there while I searched for her car. Your staff welcomed her with open arms and took care of her while I searched the car park, I believe they even made her a hot drink. I was away for a maximum of 10mins and a customer in your store came and assisted me in finding her car. With his help, we were able to locate her car. He returned to your store to inform the elderly lady of the good news and to assist her with putting her walking frame into her car once I had arrived to your store with her car. I cannot thank your staff and this gentleman enough for their compassion and kindness, to this elderly...
Read moreWent to buy lunch, the shop owner approached me and said something which I couldn’t hear, he then pulled his mask down to say, “you can make an order but you must wait outside because you have no mask”. Double standards? I refuse to support a business who discriminates against a customer who Is a medically exempt individual. I will not be supporting this business ever again. Being medically exempt should not denote that a customer be treated any different. I hope this is an eye opener to the way the shop treats exempt people. Major shame.
As a business owner, you should make yourself very familiar with the DHHS directives for masks. You are actually in breach of the Chief Health Officers COVID directions when you refuse entry or service to a medically exempt person. Such a refusal is also a breach of the Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act 1992. If you don’t want people supporting your business because of your wrong approach that’s fine, let the Government compensate you on your financial loss then. People are struggling to make money, and here you are Discriminating a medically exempt individual who could of put some money in your pocket. You keep that approach up and we’ll see how far...
Read moreI heard about how kind and caring your staff and customers were today, when a stranger, my friend, brought in an elderly lady, with her walking frame. She was cold, soaked and upset when my friend first noticed her, as she had been walking around the carpark, in the rain searching for her car. My friend sought out help from Coburg optical centre but the person there was only willing to help if the elderly lady was going to purchase something from her store. So my friend brought the elderly lady into your store and asked your staff for help in assisting the little old lady. Your staff were willing to help immediately and did everything they could to make the little old lady dry, warm and comfortable while my friend and one of your customers located her car and drove it to the front of your store. It is fantastic to know that there are wonderful people like you, your staff and your customers. I will tell everyone I know to visit your store. You are...
