Al Alamy is a 3 in 1 store. Inside the place you will find groceries, cafe, and a small bakery. They have a plenty of Mediterranean groceries, and sells good bakery items, and also coffee. Please always make sure to check your order before leaving the store. I ordered different takeaway bakery items and paid around $50. When I left home, I was really disappointed because some of items that I ordered were missing.
Another thing happened at the store that extremely annoyed me. One of the staff was terribly rude to one of the customers. I was waiting for my order when a female customer who apparently doesnβt speak English well. The female customer was struggling and trying to order a cafe latte. Instead of saying cafe latte, the lady shyly and quietly said βcoffee lightβ. The lady seemed very hesitant and embarrassed because of the fact the she does not speak or has enough English. However, what annoyed me was the very rude and unfriendly reaction of one of the staff (a Lebanese female in her early 50s) who took her order. The female employee started to yell and shout repeatedly βwhat is coffee light?β And then said loudly βcan someone tell me what a coffee light is?β The female customer was very embarrassed, and started to repeat the same thing again and again βcoffee light, coffee lightβ!! Another customer interfered and said βI think she means a latteβ, which is what she was trying to say. Then, the latte was ready and the customer was confused because the latte was not in a takeaway cup. She went back to the same employee and said βtakeawayβ. Then the employee started to yell and shout again saying to the customer βyou didnβt say takeaway!β. The whole situation was extremely awkward and rude. The poor lady (the customer) was speechless until another employee came in and said to her colleague in Arabic βplease thatβs enough leave the poor ladyβ.

Β Β Β Read moreAs a regular customer, (i have breakfast here at least 2-3 times a week and have been a customer for at least 15 years) I am always treated with extremely disrespectful and rude customer service every single time i dine here. It is rare to even receive a smile from one of the ladies behind the counter. I have also noticed that your staff are only friendly to Lebanese and Arabic people. I really dont understand why management does not do anything about this as these women are customer service workers that represent and reflect your business.
Your bakery food is great. I absolutely love it. Food is always consistent and of great quality. My one complaint about the food is that i order the same thing every time yet i receive a different price each time. I am no longer supporting your business because YOU (management), clearly do not care or value your customers.
Edit: thank you for your response and for taking action. Within a couple of months your employees' attitude is a lot more polite and welcoming. I enjoy my visits here now and look forward to many more baked...
Β Β Β Read moreLets start with 'Service'. All staff seem, kind and caring toward their customers, making them feel special. I watched their interactions as I ate my meal. The business just seem to tick along nicely with orders getting out to customers fast! Food is fresh with baking done daily. Also there is a great variey of food, including produce from their grocery section, which must have every product from their Lebanon motherland. Next praise goes to their Barista, man can he make a brew. My favourite is a double shot, extra hot cap with a spoon of honey. He nailed it every time π. I had several cups that day while doing photography for the business. And i have to say that going to Al Alamy was like discovering a culinary secret i almost didnt want share in fear of them getting too busy.π When you head up sydney road, heading North , go left at Bell street, drive for 50 metres and go left, a few seconds later, 'Behold the mighty Al Alamy'. Now you too have my secret...
