The chili eggs were decently sized, but the overall experience was disappointing. We weren't informed about the 15% surcharge on and this was our first visit, which left a sour taste. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. Its such a letdown and a bit disheartening. It's important for businesses to communicate any additional charges upfront to avoid leaving customers feeling unhappy.
RE: Hi, thanks for your response. You claim to hold yourselves and your customer service to higher standards, but my experience clearly contradicted that. You can believe what you want, but it doesn't change my disappointing experience at your restaurant.
As a customer, it's not my responsibility to ensure your staff are adequately paid—that's your job as a business. There's no need to suggest that I don't support fair pay (please don’t try to gaslight me; it's unprofessional, and not a good look for a business… especially online). As I mentioned before, I won’t be coming back, nor will I support your business in the future, so telling me to "eat elsewhere" is pointless—I already decided that after my first visit.
P.S. Inserting surcharges in fine print on your menu is deceptive and undermines customer trust. You also can't assume every customer will approach your counter when have outside seating area. Factually speaking, your tables were dirty, your chilli eggs were utterly flavourless and uninspired. It lacked seasoning and depth. Your service was terrible and it’s concerning how poorly you handle criticism. E.g refer to your petty responses to all the negative feedback you’ve received in the past 6 years 😩😂 Thanks for the awful experience, I genuinely hope your...
Read moreBe warned, you’re likely going to want a penicillin shot after visiting here. Although the portion size is large everything comes on dirty kitchenware, and includes human hair. Glasses had food on them, cutlery, fingerprints and dried food, plates, dried food. I gave up pulling hair out of my food and didn’t eat it, ordering a juice instead. The staff are lovely but the owner was terribly rude; told me “deal with it”. Steer clear, there are safer options elsewhere.
Oh and be warned there’s no split bills. This isn’t listed anywhere other than a small bit of paper taped under the register screen which they pull down to display if you query it.
This plus the surcharge which is displayed in fine print on the menu make for 2 items in breach of ACCC regulations.
The ACCC will get a registered complaint after department of health Victoria.
Edit post fictional response from vendor: I think the vendor has me mixed up with another disgruntled visitor which I’m sure is easy to do with that many sure to leave unhappy. My party, of 3 left with me after I paid the entire bill and they transferred me $. Who waves a finger these days, sorry but I’m not 60, nice try though. And the owner on holiday, maybe the fake owner was the one that was rude then, fake hair extensions, nails, lip filler and tan… that fake one, maybe ask her why she likes to tell people she’s the owner. Either way, I have given my honest feedback on this shocking establishment, I will leave the numerous other reviews to warn people as well as...
Read moreI was honestly writing this review at the table when we were all finished with our meals. Everyone got up to pay so I couldn’t finish the review. I had rated this restaurant 5 stars - the service was awesome and the food is so flavoursome and generous. I couldn’t fault it in all honesty. The crazy shakes are awesome - well worth the $20, the kids meals were generous sizes and as I looked around the restaurant everyone’s meals looked really delicious.
HOWEVER, when it came to pay the bill, a 15% weekend surcharge was way over the top. I walked out of there questioning my bill in my head which should’ve came to roughly $75 and I payed $86. I went back and the waiter told me it was the weekend and there is a surcharge.
I think, let your customers know verbally prior to being seated that there will be a 15% weekend surcharge and let them make up their own minds whether they want to continue to dine with you. Signs you may have on display indicating your surcharge can be so easily missed. It’s really misleading and you honestly didn’t have that many staff working that would justify a 15% surcharge for customer’s meals to account for your staff’s weekend pay rate. It’s actually just price gouging. It’s a real struggle for most families to go out for lunch or dinner these days with the cost of living. Please don’t make it harder.
Because of this, I only gave 3 stars, which initially was a 5. It just let down the whole experience and as much as I’d love to return, it really...
