It's a long story how we purposefully stumbled on Thai Village, and let me tell you, it's worth the 20-30 minute drive each time to get there. The food is always on point. Service can be a bit spotty, but good overall. Like many places, they do tend to do a lot of take out and that sometimes takes priority over paying guests in the restaurant (one of my biggest pet peeves), but ... again ... the food is worth it. No matter what I order, they always get it right (and I do make a few substitutions). It's always hot and delicious and comforting. Their Tom Kha Gai soup is incredible. Sooooo good. I love their Chicken Fried Rice and the Chicken Massaman is really flavourful. BUT ... I could lay a bet down, that their Coconut Rice is the BEST in Melbourne. It's beyond delicious. I swear, I could just eat a bowl of that and nothing else and I'd be happy having it as my meal ;-) Thai Village is in a semi busy street (big supermarket across the road that brings in extra traffic), but parking isn't too bad. Also, their pricing is very reasonable. Thai Village is a casual restaurant and one of the nicest Thai restaurants I've been to. Definitely in my Top 3 in Melbourne. Give it a go!

Food is not good enough to put up with the appalling customer service if something doesn’t go well. Ordered delivery but food never arrived. Made multiple phone calls to the restaurant but my order never turned up. They eventually claimed (well over 1.5 hours after ordering) that the delivery driver had rung the bell, got no answer and left the food on the doorstep. Even though I spent the better part of an hour outside on said doorstep. So if he did deliver it, it wasn’t to me. I can only assume some random Mentone resident tripped over cold Thai food the next morning when they headed out for the day. Restaurant refused to apologise or acknowledge any sort of mix up on their part, let alone provide a refund (lol!). Even later claimed the delivery driver tried calling me which is a complete and utter lie - I had my phone in my hand the entire time (I’m a flipping millennial). I will never order from them again. If you do decide to go here, I advise eating in. Presumably they won’t lose your food between your table and...

We used to come here years ago but started to go to other places and got into a rut, then four of us decided to try Thai Village again. Well, although it was great the last times we went, tonight was even better. The Tom Kha was superb. The red beef curry (Gang Dang?) was delicious. The Coco Island seafood dish was excellent. Only a handful of clients so service was quick. Our friends had the spring rolls and curry puffs, red chicken curry, and one other dish I have forgotten, but they loved all four. The staff were friendly and liked a laugh (even my "dad jokes", poor girls). Pay by credit card or cheaper for cash. We'll be back in preference to our other Thai haunts (and it's...
