Came on Parma night, chicken is $17 and HUGE (eggplant also available)! Very good value for money and was very tasty, juicy chicken and the chips were really good along with the salad. Could be improved with more seasoning in the Napoli sauce and a stronger tasting cheese. Only served with tomato sauce which I don't like and when I asked for mayonnaise instead I was charged $1 extra!!! I don't like that as I didn't touch the tomato sauce and I wish I could have just swapped it. Seen online it is the top rated Parma in Melbourne. Drinks very good, $9 pint of lager of the month is excellent, also enjoyed the Japanese lager $8 schooner during happy hour. Lots of local brew beers which is nice and different. Gets very busy on Parma night so must reserve a table, I reserved one and requested normal table and chairs in dining room but was reserved a high top chair by the bar which I don't like but staff were happy for us to sit elsewhere, shame my request wasn't taken note of. Lots of options on food and drinks menu. Music very good (rock/indie) and a nice relaxed atmosphere with games available (Jenga, monopoly deal). Location excellent as right on the 86 tram line with a stop right out the front. Toilets need a clean! There's also a ceiling leak in the ladies bathroom above the sink and will drip on you when you wash...

Have been coming here off and on for years and it's always been consistently great. Often packed with regulars on Friday and Saturday nights, it's a fabulous place to start or end your night if in the Fitzroy and Collingwood area. On a Sunday, you can be assured of a relaxed atmosphere in the beer garden. Food is good and reasonably priced. Music or trivia nights scheduled so read the boards out the front. And of course the Tuesday night $13 Parma is a must. Happy hour Monday to Friday between 3 - 7 pm is worthwhile with $6 schooner and all tap beers and $5 house wines. The toilets are clean and everything is wheelchair friendly. Car parking around Fitzroy and Collingwood can come with challenges so please check you have enough time to find one. Outdoor seating is also nice on those hot nights. Most importantly, the staff are just lovely. Helpful, smiling, chatty, enthusiastic. This is also what makes the experience that much better than other establishments. Well done everyone. I look forward to coming again and again...

Interesting story we have at the Birmingham Hotel - we arrived at probably their busiest time and ordered our meals, the bar staff told us that there was a 20min wait in the kitchen; we were thrilled as we had a friends gig to attend. I had ordered an entree, though my other friends did not. My entree came out in 20 mins but everything else was delayed drastically. We had to leave by 820 today to get to the gig we were watching and we ordered at 720. The manager - - was actually really easy to approach and communicate with. Their management was impeccable. We were able to come back after the gig and eat our meal with a drink on the house. Now, if that is not customer service - I don’t know what is. This manager and team knows how to look after their customers. Super impressed - thank you for allowing our night...

The Birmingham is a solid spot in Fitzroy – a decent bar with a good atmosphere that isn’t overly crowded. The space is well laid out with both indoor and outdoor areas, giving it a relaxed vibe that works well for groups or just a casual drink. The $9 pint deal during footy season is great value, and the bar staff are friendly and efficient even when it gets busy. Drinks selection is good, and the venue itself has a classic pub feel with a bit of character. Not the most polished bar in the area, but it doesn’t need to be – it’s a reliable place to grab a drink, enjoy some sport, and hang out without the chaos you sometimes get in Fitzroy. Would happily come back.
