The Crispy Catch Fish & Chips - Mount Waverley — Restaurant in Melbourne

In this review, I will discuss the most popular meals of this store, which are also the most important parts. Note that I have tried everything myself, and have done so multiple times.

Slouvaki meat - oh my goodness. There are three other shops within a 1km radius that do hsp's and slouvaki (Chicken central, Aussie fries and kebabs on Ferntree/Blackburn Rd, and Glenny kebabs) and this is by FAR the best meat. They charcoal/wood smoke their lamb and chicken, which makes it so beautifully earthy, and their home-made tzatziki complements it beyond comprehension. I would rate Chicken Central 2nd, Aussie fries 3rd, and Glenny kebabs last.

Chips - always freshly cooked no matter how busy or empty they are, so no worries for soggy chips like chicken central or lukewarm/cold chips from Glenny Kebabs. Have a nice crisp and the traditional chunky size of a fish and chips shop and a nice salt. Wouldn't recommend to someone who likes crunchy hot chips

Fish - beautiful. Really crunchy compared to most other shops, even after some lemon drissle ontop. Has a more gourmet texture. HUGE selection as well. Never once had any issues with it

Potato cakes - HOLY MOLY. They are actually fluffy inside and have the same crunchiness as the fish. They don't have the usual disk texture of a potato that almost every other shop has. They are seriously good and I couldn't recommend them enough

As a long-time fan of Crispy Catch ever since they opened up in Ringwood East, I was keen as to try their latest opening in Mount Waverley. They didn't disappoint! Their charcoal lamb is amazing, cooked the authentic way over charcoal and is seasoned perfectly, moist and tender. chefs kiss The greek salad was super fresh and tasty. The fish was a very decent portion size, fresh, and that crispy, crunchy batter was A++. Their chips are somehow a step above everyone elses too.

Then there is the owners, Anthony & John, the two nicest blokes who are super friendly, hard-working & I'm sure will become your new best mates!

I'm looking forward to making the trip out there again and trying out the rest of the menu! Thanks for the epic meal guys (and for remembering us from Ringwood) 😃

**side note: regarding UberEATS and Menulog orders... Every time whilst I was waiting there, before handing over the order to the Delivery Driver the staff were instructed to double-check the order to ensure that everything was there. Just another little attention to detail that I think makes...

I had so much eager to have fish and chips and found this shop and visited and ordered, fish and chips are fresh but I didn't get the sauce and mostly I immediately regretted to come as I felt not too pleasant. Later my friend told me it should come with lemon which i didn't have as in the photo, i saw the lemon on other photos. It was little hard to finish but again fish was fresh.

Fish and flour mix was not attached so well and so i put them into my mouth separately.

It is clean restaurant and atmosphere was alright. Hope you don't forget of lemon next time.

PS: Thanks for your reply, reply from owner is little hit and miss for me. I seldom have fish and chips so I have asked to friends and lemon with Fish and chips is essential and price I have paid for highest and I chose to get to your shop as you were awarded decades ago and expected the quality. I hope you reconsider what you sell and how you sell. You could sell lower price if you aren't plan to include the items that are essential in most of other...
