If there was an option for minus stars, I'd have chosen that, tonight I ordered dinner,, I did it over the phone, to be picked up in 15 minutes, granted they were busy, so the extra wait was acceptable, my order of 10 nuggets, min chips, i fish souvlaki and 2 meat souvlakis... I get home, and we have 3 fish souvlakis and on all onion and tomato.. One was meant to have no onion or tomato.. anyway I rang them up, to their credit, they replaced the 2 we did not order.. so while i was in the shop, 3 people heard my order, apologies all round from staff, I wave it off thankful for the free replacements.. so 3 heard me say 2 lamb souvlakis, 1 with the lot, 1 without onion and tomato.........I get them home, I open mine up.....NO sauce, all onion and tomato, the other, Ill be honest, I was not willing to open it up. I will not order from them again. my replacement dinner was worse than the first souvlaki. Sadly food scored a miserable zero, but the people themselves very nice and complying to please. There was clearly a language barrier from us receiving a decent takeaway meal, to us getting 5 souvlakis and so far, only 1 was edible. .........Ok update on 2nd free Souvlaki, that was thrown in the bin, my husband said of the 2 bites he took, the second bite, was 1 too many. I ordered a fish and chips pack for lunch. After paying with cash, i watched the cook handle the money, move some things around a cupboard, scratch his nose, rub his forehead, THEN proceeds to open a tin of pineapple and scoop my ring of pineapple out of the tin with his same finger 👉🏻

Obviously, i asked for a refund.

Been away for years and was thrilled that The Golden Horseshoe has not changed at all. Great traditional fish and chips, decent prices, very friendly and professional service and the best bit, the original 1980s deco! We had the family pack with flake, dim sims, potato cakes, calamari rings and chips. Of course the obligatory chicken...
