I have never been treated so poorly as a coeliac vegan eater as I was in this bar. I could not recommend enough to stay away from this venue if you are at all progressive in your ways of thinking. I understand outside food isn’t typically allowed in a restaurant but as a group invited to a celebratory drink, I came to this venue today. No options on the menu for me other than white jasmine rice, I decided to head next door to Max’s to grab a snack whilst everyone else ordered food from this place (over $200 of food, may I add), as no other options were available for me and I didn’t feel like plain rice. Being discriminated against for having dietaries isn’t common these days in 2022, but it was today. I cannot believe the rudeness displayed by the owner of the venue, again I’ll state I’ve never been so badly treated in any place I’ve eaten in 20 years+. If you aren’t an allergy friendly venue, I’m not sure what you expect us to do as customers other than skip a meal with loved ones. So disappointed and brought to tears by the ladies rudeness, she was obviously stressed and overworked but their style of communication definitely needs work, instead of straight up aggression. My family will never be coming here again, as they were also shocked at the terrible behaviour of the...
Read moreLet's start with the behaviour of one waitress with the nose ring. It's your behaviour and lack of knowledge of what the wine list is all about and no knowledge of what beers are on offer and no idea how to be respectful towards paying customers that has incurred this poor rating. Girl, you need to grow up and the owners of this establishment need to train you or fire you. You acted like you were working at Karen's. To the owners, don't say you are a hop bar if you have only 3 beers available on the night. Your wine list is great and reasonably priced. Your food was good but generally overpriced and your chef over fried the beef wontons and sucked all the life out of them,a fail. The chilli oil they sat on was horrible, no heat, no flavour nothing. The winner was your KFC sliders. Thank God for Korean Fried Chicken. This place is worth a visit but avoid ordering those extra small parcels of overpriced overcooked beef wontons and avoid the grumpy young waitress with the nose ring. Hopefully they also sort out their beer list and their kitchen. Great to have Asian infused but don't charge a bomb for sub...
Read moreVisiting from regional Victoria, we had a fabulous late lunch here last weekend after a recommendation from my Mum. We were warmly welcomed by Lincoln (the owner) who explained the "specials" menu to us. Lincoln is very passionate about his bar and the food that he serves. I originally had my heart set on a Pho but after seeing all the delights on the menu we decided to order a number of small plates instead so we could sample a variety of different Asian cuisines. This definitely did not disappoint and was perfect with the refreshing beer we were enjoying. Highlights were the Korean Fried Chicken Sliders and the Yakitori which were outstanding but to be perfectly honest everything we ate was delicious. Unfortunately due to all the work currently going on in Were Street and the station local businesses are suffering through the bedlam but this bar/restaurant definitely deserves support. We will...
