Before I start, the food here is great. The pizzas are delicious, as are the beverages. Unfortunately I can’t offer the same praise for the hospitality.

On a recent visit we decided to book ahead for a table for two for dinner. On arrival we were shown to a tiny bench with virtually no room to move. This is particularly problematic for me as I have cerebral palsy and I find small spaces difficult to function in.

To add insult to injury when I went to move the stool out, a large piece of wood broke off giving me a splinter. Annoyed, I alerted management and told them we would sit outside at a table on the street given the stool was a safety hazard and I was concerned with it ripping my jeans or causing an injury.

At this point not much more was said and done apart from being offered some tweezers and a band aid. Shockingly the stool wasn’t even taken out of service and people were allowed to continue to sit on it!

Instead of what would normally be offered under the circumstances, perhaps an apology and a drink to make up for the chair incident as well as a table inside, we were left to our own devices outside on a rickety table, on the street, late at night on a cold autumn evening with everyone else inside!

As a manager myself, the whole situation should have been handled a lot better, but firstly and foremost, occupational health and safety should be taken seriously at all times. There is no way the stool in question should have been kept on the floor and allowed to be used.

Overall, very disappointed with...

“A Hidden Gem in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs!”

The Hills Wine Bar is a true hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The interior is beautifully designed, creating the perfect ambiance for a relaxing evening.

The wine selection is superb—whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just someone who enjoys a good glass of wine, you’ll find something to love. Their knowledgeable staff is always happy to help you choose the perfect bottle or suggest a delicious pairing with their small but carefully curated food menu.

What really stands out is the attention to detail in everything they do, from the presentation of the food to the quality of service. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they offer. Whether you’re there for a casual drink or a special occasion, The Hills Wine Bar makes every visit memorable.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy spot to enjoy great wine, excellent food, and a...

Great Wine Bar but has limited food menu, but is designed around wine tasting. It has 9 pages of wines, and the waiter chose a white and red for us based on our tastes. Loud inside and packed full. Including the 2 x tables outside in the cold. Small selection of beers from Burnley Brewing. The Pale Ale comes in 440ml cans so is the best value beer. The food is really tasty and designed to go with your wines. A VERY pleasant place for having some food with your chosen wine or beer. The kitchen closes around 9.30 - 10pm? And the place closes around 11.30pm. A great find for a pleasant wine and talk and very tasty food to add to the experience. An adult venue. ...

I suppose it’s a bit unusual for a spirit/ cocktail girl to be going to a wine bar but I want to a) expand my palate and b) support a local business particularly during extensive train crossing removal works. Here is a gorgeous dessert that I’ve had here - and I can attest that Gabe was amazingly patient and friendly in helping my try out what might be a good wine for me to enjoy - and even so I could enjoy cocktails on the menu regardless. (I’ll work on it little by little next time I visit, promise!) Felt very sophisticated just being there but with a very accessible and personable level of service.

Customer service was terrible my partner had a broken stall and wasn’t offfed anything inside to eat and drink. And it wasn’t a pleasant night here I wouldn’t come back here after the service and broken chair we had not worth it wasn’t even offered any compensation for it. When we were sitting outside it feel like no one was there and I didn’t enjoy the chips they were terrible with cheese on it not coming back!!
