I was buying a drink at the bar from a friendly bartender, when who I assume was the owner came up to me and asked how old I was. I replied and said 26. I was expecting him to ask for my ID, because I get this quite a lot as I do look young for my age. I would have been happy to show him my ID. He then turned to me and under his breath said that I looked like a 'young teenage boy'. The guy who was actually serving me, apologised and said don't listen to anything he says, which I appreciated. Please note that I am a 26 year old female. Well, 'The Raccoon Club' is akin to a classic London Pub, your comfy lounge room away from home! I've found nothing quite like it anywhere in my 10 years of retirement, and I've been everywhere man! Fabulous family run bar (Rob, Helen and Dash) an experience well worth a visit if you're in town. Picked up a friend from the airport late on Friday and wanted somewhere to go near my place for a couple of drinks and this place was one of the only bars open and I'm so glad we went in! Funky vibe, friendly staff and good range of drinks. Real eclectic crowd as well, seemed to have a good mix of all different types of people.
