There's really nothing not to like about CJ. Don't let the 'cheap and cheerful' shop frontage affect your opinion of it. The food is of very good quality, as is the coffee, as are the pastries, portions are generous, the prices of everything are unusually reasonable (you'd pay twice as much for food that - at best - tastes no better at one of the other cafes meters down the road), and the staff are always so warm and friendly to customers.

It's a shame they're not open weekends and that I'm usually working in the city weekdays, otherwise I'd be going there all the time. If you're around Preston between 7-3am on a weekday, check out this place. You'll be really...

I ordered the crispy pork roll with patê and found it a little underwhelming. I loved the fact that they toast their tiger bread on order so that it’s warm and crispy, they add a good amount of protein, pickled veg and hoisin sauce, but the patê wasn’t prominent. I couldn’t taste it, nor see it much at all whilst eating which is a shame because I love pate! I also found that the flavour of the pork was lack lustre. It could’ve used a little more seasoning. The meat was tender in some areas and drier in others. It wasn’t the worst, the bread really made it, but I probably won’t be...

Simple no-frills setup with minimal inside dining. Orders are done through a touchscreen terminal and wait for your number to be called. Service was ok since I ordered takeout.

Ordered the crispy pork banh mi. Bread roll was alright, condiments were generous. Roast pork came with crackling but could be better if the meat was slightly more moist. Sauce was just normal Chinese hoisin, hence was on the sweet side. Some chopped chili for a little heat would have been great. Otherwise, decent banh mi.

Taste : 3/5 Dine-in Atmosphere : 2/5 Value...

Honestly one of the best banh mis I have had. They keep the bread nice and warm so when they spread the butter and patè it just melts into the bread. I got the roast pork roll with a bottle of coke which came out to be 16 dollars, which to me isn't too bad. There were heaps of people there when I left which is a good sign that it's popular for good reason! I'll have to come back and try their daily specials at one point but definitely will be getting their roast pork banh mi again!
