We truly wanted to like this place, but the food was unbelievably awful and overpriced. It works if you're only looking for a beer, but for a decent pub meal there are countless better options in the area. Starting with the cheese platter, ordered from the special board, which costs $45. It consisted of a brie and a blue cheese, along with (no joke) a block of regular tasty cheese, cut in half. The guacamole and beetroot dips followed the same theme - cheap, and low-quality. They were clearly not made in house, instead they were like the cheapest brand at the supermarket but somehow even worse. I've worked in a commercial kitchen that was notorious for cutting corners, and the taste was instantly recognizable, we used to use the same stuff. Somehow this wasn't even the worst part. The grapes on the platter were dirty, rotting and mouldy. Again, this cost $45, more than two full meals, and it was made up of the cheapest cheese, awful bought-in dip and mouldy fruit. The rest of the dinner was little better. The mushroom pie seemed to be the only thing actually made in-house, and it was boring, bland and not even an actual pie. It was like a failed attempt at a pot pie, that was served in a dish and only had pastry on top. As if to add insult to injury, it came with powdered mash potato and reheated frozen veggies. Something has gone seriously wrong with this place. Whether it's the kitchen not being given sufficient time to prepare actual food, or the management simply not caring, it's pretty horrifying to see just how bad things have gotten.

Feb 2025 I've been back a number of times lately. Good food, good service, and the craft beers are nice, too. There's happy hour here w a very average beer, so I wouldn't rush back for that. Otherwise, it's worth a visit. ______________________________________ I haven't been here for a while, so it was great to be back. The service was really friendly and welcoming. Strict protocols were adhered to. I enjoyed a couple of stouts. My partner had a beer and a Patient Wolf Gin and Tonic. We had a great time, and I look forward to going back.

Great little pub in an excellent neighbourhood but the food brings it down. We ordered the chicken wings and rhubarb and apple pie. The wings were a bit rubbery and could have used a smothering of Frank's hot sauce.. just lacking. The pie.. really crumby, pretty much a pie tin full of crumb-like mix (see images for that pearler) Aside from this, the beer selections are good and the staff are pretty friendly. Cute little pub, would come back for atmosphere but wouldn't prioritise food here.

Honestly would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for one of the waitresses. Went for trivia on Monday, great bar and a lot of fun in a nice setting. Unfortunately we had booked for 8 but brought 10 along due to some last minute people wanting to tag along. Waitress was annoyed about this (fair enough) saying it would squish the table next to us who were regulars. We asked them multiple times if it was okay, as did she and they said it was not a problem, we got along with them really well and had a great night with them. She then decided she would hold a grudge against us for the remainder of the evening - eating one of the chips from our food whilst bringing it to the table, not filling our drinks up properly when we bought one and just having a ghastly attitude towards us every time we had to interact.

I've been reviewing on here for 3 years and have literally never given a bar/restaurant less than 5 stars. I have a very high tolerance for bad customer service as I have worked in hospitality and know how awful customers can be and how it can sometimes degrade you but this person was on another level and really was not justified in...

I went along on a Monday night for trivia, so the focus of my review will about the less than impressive night that ensued.

First the audio system failed, yet the host made no attempt to leave the back corner, meaning that most teams couldn't hear the questions.

Second there seems to be no limit to the team sizes, with one team having no less than 11 members.

Third, the trivia itself was dull, with no on-screen component and heavily skewed towards pop TV culture.

Last, owing to the very easy nature of the questions the scores were so close (after round two 6 teams were equal first) that the only way to break the tie was with a coin toss.

The only saving grace of the trivia was the decent food and good drink selection. I'll give this one a...
