Arrived at blackout shisha lounge on Friday night for some shisha and requested to be seated upstairs. We were told that there was no room for 2 people upstairs and that upstairs was reserved for bookings and we would only be able to sit down stairs. We agreed to sit downstairs after a fair point had been made. A young lady came and placed our order, providing excellent service. Following this, another 2 people walked in and asked to be seated upstairs. They were again told it was not possible to be seated upstairs and they would have to be seated downstairs. This couple seated themselves downstairs and then once their shisha was ready, this couple was moved upstairs by one of the workers, who originally told us we were unable to sit upstairs. We thought this was quite odd so we asked the question “Is there room upstairs now?”. We were given a reply with extreme attitude and aggression that the couple that went upstairs had booked a table. We were quite astonished as we had overheard them when they came in clearly say they had no booking, we stated this in our discussion with the waiter. He became increasingly aggressive and full of attitude, and tried to explain how there booking system works, and how that after 930-10pm they only take walkins and that the upstairs area is reserved for large groups. We were quite disappointed in this explanation as we have tried to book upstairs on multiple occasions and have always been told it was not possible. There was also no relevance to this explanation in this situation as the couple had not even booked a table. Following this, ANOTHER couple walked in requesting upstairs. They were told they could not be seated upstairs and that they had to sit down stairs. Within 5 minutes, there were greeted with a now extremely nice waiter, offering for them to be seated upstairs… without a booking?!?!?!
This is quite an unfortunate and upsetting experience as we quite enjoy attending this shisha lounge… we feel extremely disadvantaged and disrespected by this situation and do not understand how different groups of people can be treated differently. Maybe I have to try booking for 2 people at 930pm upstairs… but I doubt this would be possible, as in previous occurrences. We also don’t appreciate the disrespect, attitude and aggressiveness by the waiter, did not make us feel...
Read moreI recently dined at Blackout Restaurant and ordered their porterhouse steak. Unfortunately, I found the steak to be rather disappointing, as it lacked flavor and was not as tasty as I had hoped. Additionally, while the portion size was adequate, it did not seem to meet the advertised 250g.
Moreover, I was surprised to find that the price for the shisha was higher than the average in the area. Despite the ambiance of the restaurant being pleasant, the higher-than-expected pricing for the shisha was a letdown.
However, what was most disappointing was the response I received from the owner after leaving a one-star review without any comment. It's disheartening to see a business react defensively and resort to personal attacks against customers who provide honest feedback. Rather than dismissing negative reviews, I believe it's important for the restaurant to listen to customer concerns and strive to improve their offerings and customer service.
Overall, my experience at Blackout was less than satisfactory due to the lackluster food quality and the concerning response to feedback. I hope the restaurant takes this opportunity to reevaluate their practices and work towards providing a better dining experience for...
