So this is going to be quite a long review, but I do hope the authorities or the owner reads this:)
Firstly, I have to say that this is an amazing wine bar- great service, lovely ambience, delicious food and reasonable prices for the drinks. I just live across the street and I visit the place almost everyday.
But...off late my experience has been really uncomfortable and extremely poor. There was one person by the name of Sam who's been serving me off late and I remember the first time I was at the counter and waiting to order drinks- he takes over and asks me to tell "please" before I order my drinks!!!!!!! Since I am a regular there, I didn't take it seriously, but having said that I was clearly shaken by the simple fact that why would someday stress on asking the customer to say "please" before ordering a drink?
Second instance and as recent as today- i went up to the counter to say - guys I just went to the washroom and the staff has been clearing the table and unknowingly taking the drinks that I ordered. Now comes Mr Sam - he just blasts at me telling and pointing fingers at me and yelling in front of everyone that it's my fault and that I had to take my order to the washroom??? I mean Common!!!!! So whatever I order, I got to take it to the washroom???? Infact in the first instance, I covered my glass with a napkin so that the staff knows the customer is going to be back, but to no avail. I tried to explain this to Mr Sam, but I guess he was so racist that he just didn't even bother to listen to me!!!!!!!!!
Great place guys, but be careful of Mr Sam- especially ppl from a diff cultural background, because that might...
Read moreI have had good and average experiences here. Good is the cheese boards and variety of wines. Let's be honest, for a wine bar I expect a menu to pair with, not a retro 90s experience. Embarrassingly, the chef put Thai basil on the Bruschetta... um yeah that happened. Sorry, Italy!!!! Apart from that huge error, it was too large and smothered in balsamic - again this was a 90s experience, not authentic to the cuisine. It was more like a lunch sized portion on a huge roll that was cut in half (about 12x18cm each), but at least it was freshly made. The bar service was ok, but in a wine bar you would hope they are knowledgeable on wines. Unfortunately, I feel this place is not as classy as you would want as a wine enthusiast. It is only marginally better than the dicey "wine bar" on Puckle St which is more like a local RSL. No joke, I had a guy here beside me clearing his throat loudly here every minute or so. I looked around and like the other "wine bar", it seems to have the alcos on tap...
Read moreThe place is awesome, great vibes in general. The decorations, the style, the concept of this wine bar is just fantastic. The reason I rated this place with 4 stars is because still needs to adjust a bit in the customer service area. Nothing bad, no negative comments at all, just my opinion to encourage improvement. You can pick a a wine and had it on site or take home. Pizza was crunchy and delicious. I would suggest more options in the menu, specially for desserts ( it’s cannoli or an alcoholic dessert and that’s it.) Parking Tip : after 6 pm Coles parking is free.
FOOD: just nice, but nothing outstanding or unforgettable SERVICE: staff members are politically correct and nearly polite, but definitely not welcoming neither friendly. That’s the weakest spot of this place ATMOSPHERE: the place is pretty, nice cozy, decorated in good test, a bit dirty in the front area
Positive tips: they have live music ( check schedule ) and affordable fix menus on different days of the...
