Went for New Year’s Eve 2024. Below average at best. The food was all cheap style food. Mostly seafood which if you don’t enjoy seafood is a letdown. No regular chicken or beef dishes. The pasta was absolutely terrible. Drinks not included in the price either - not even soft drinks. The dessert was horrific. Everything was pre bought and tasting terrible. The worst was that they advertised a “pistachio eclair” which was quite literally a store bought biscuit with fake raspberry jam filling and dipped in pistachio rock hard. The live music was slow and boring for the most part. Right at new years when everyone went to the balcony to enjoy the fireworks the venue decided this was an appropriate time to turn on the sprinkler system and get everyone wet. For $120 a head it was a huge waste of money and insanely overpriced.

Came here for the 2017 Chinese New Year Celebration. Thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment and the races. There were around 10 food stalls selling a good variety of food, including Chinese, Indian, Western and Korean and more. Great views to the city skyline! Huge racecourse, the seats are fine (cleanliness is acceptable). The carparks are OK, but I can imagine it will get quite full on a busy day. Also the signage is a little bit lacking (perhaps not large enough for people to see clearly?) as I didn't know where the gate was after parking my car and was wandering around the carpark for 5-10 minutes. The (male) toilets are bigger than I had imagined, and was kept fairly clean. All in all, good racecourse, great location!

I've attended several functions at Moonee Valley Race ourse. Parking is available onsite. They have multiple function rooms at the venue, so you need to know which you are attending. In the Champion room the room doesn't have a lot of atmosphere unless you are there to view the races, where the covered views to the track would be perfect. Staff have always been very helpful and food was plentiful. The entrance leaves a lot to be desired looking out onto a car Park and a construction site. The main function room further into the complex is served by lifts and escalators and can easily hold 400- 500 people with a podium and dance floor.

Won’t be back. Members Dining room -the bathroom facilities were so basic I actually felt like I was at a local footy club, the seafood and starters were below standard. Prawns were inedible… like someone had forgotten to defrost them so submerged in tap water for an extended period of time… watery and soggy on the cut end - NASTY! Oysters muscles worse than supermarket grade. The olives on offer were tiny and tasted terrible again below supermarket grade. The main chicken was dry and mushy peas felt like I was at a nursing home, thankfully the desert table was wonderful 10/10 for desert. Those with children:- the face painting was disturbing, the lady was quite rude to some children in front of us and I was disgusted when she had finished my four year old who asked for a rainbow unicorn and what she painted was a unicorn and unicorn poo. We didn’t tell my daughter what it was, we just washed it off with a wipe immediately and told her the lady did a could and it was a mistake, my daughter had seen a rainbow across the track earlier so was so looking forward to a rainbow face paint, my daughter was dressed immaculately and the face painters interaction with her was non existent she didn’t smile, didn’t even say hello, …. Seems like she had a bad attitude to children who were well dressed as the ones before us who were well dressed copped attitude too. There was also a man with her in workman style clothing taking photos and video calls to friend and filming the children…it felt a little creepy and I wasn’t impressed when he came up and started taking photos of my four year old! The face painting was so basic two colours - nothing like the rainbow unicorn she had pictured in her cards or what my daughter asked for and expected. There was a pony advertised - that was a joke too it was behind a fence when we were there and then dragged around by a young boy and grumpy looking lady. Children were looking over the fence at were completely ignored by the lady…. so not sure what the point of that was! My daughter was disappointed as she was looking forward to seeing the pony. Thankfully a kind strapper in another stall untied her horse and let some children and my daughter have a pat!! Those with young children or asthma also be aware there is no designated smoking areas, it’s a free for all so everywhere you walk there is SMOKE. Most staff were pleasant to talk to but there were a number older ones that seemed grumpy and unpleasant. 2/10 we travel to interstate city and country meets and this is by far the worst experience. Wouldn’t recommend for families and I won’t be going back there...

We had the most outstanding Friday night racing at Mooney Valley. From the moment we bought our entry tickets we were give the most amazing service. Mr Charles Borg who met us at the enquiry entrance took us on a wonderful tour of all the facilities after getting out members guest badges for us. He even gifted me a Cox Plate badge and I was thrilled. He showed us where we should go and eat and watch the horse parade and the best views there. Charles showed us his love for tge Mooney Valley club. It was a wonderful evening. He even said comefind him at Flemington the next day in the mounting yard. Unfortunately we didn't get too. But I will always remember how we were treated by this lovely kind man. He is definitely interested right job as he loves it so. He is worth more money. Victoria Racing we will come back especially after this amazing 2 days racing. Love the Friday...

Paid $99 for Cox Pkate ticket in the Valley Precinct. It was completely fenced of from the grass public access area & for some inexplicable reason they decided to not unlock the gates to it. This meant if ypu wanted to actually see the actual track & watch the race properly, instead of perching yourself on the fencing and peering through bars like criminals,, you had to walk all the way round through the grandstand. Felt pretty annoyed that I paid the extra $ and ended up with a worse viewing experience than if I'd just bought a general public ticket!! Also, it was a miracle the fence didn't collapse when all the punters perched on it trying to watch Winx's race. Would have been a lot of injuries & a PR nightmare if that had occurred. All because the organisers didn't unlock the gate to the trackside lawn area and put a few ticket...
