Zeus Street Greek Moonee Ponds — Restaurant in Melbourne

Came in to try Zeus Street for the first time as I had seen they had some vegetarian options.

Unfortunately when the food came out it was cold even though we waited 17 minutes for 2 souvlakis.

By the time the chips came out we had almost finished our souvlakis.

The staff working on Saturday 21st of June had non existent customer service. No Hello, no smile, no thank you, nothing.

Did not utter a single word. Everytime she came over to bring an item of our order she just plonked it on the table and walked off.

Staff couldn't even be bothered cleaning up the other tables. They were just hanging out behind the counter and couldn't wait to get out that door at their shift changeover.

Lots of rubbish and plates on tables. We had to clean our own table when we got in because there were crumbs all over it.

When the new staff members started, they were just chit chatting behind the counter and the rubbish was still on tables. Mind you it's not a very big shop.

We decided to go elsewhere for dessert because of the service. Won't be going back here and unfortunately I don't recommend it. Not sure if this is a franchise but I would say try another location.

This review is only for the takeaway of loukoumades and the service experience when picking up my order. I ordered the smashed baklava loukoumades, but did got stuck doing other things before that so I took my order 20-25 minutes after it’s ready for pick up. So maybe it would tastes much better when I got it fresh. And maybe I choose the wrong flavour as the smashed baklava one not that sweet (not a crazy sweet tooth now, but it felt very less sweet for a dessert.. more on the savoury side almost 😅) so maybe if you want something on the sweeter side, try get the one with the sauces. On the service side, when I came to pick up on Monday night.. and restaurant was not as busy.. only 2 tables filled and 1 person waiting on the side if not mistaken.. had to wait for a few minutes for one of the three staffs behind the counter that facing their backs to customers noticed me (understandable things could get busy back there or they’re on some discussion or some sort), but the girl who talked to me for a front person is far from welcoming.
