On a cold winter Thursday evening after running some errands in Moonee Ponds, we got hungry and decided to go for a meal around that area. We were walking around Puckle St and we stumbled upon this restaurant Burground. It was a Korean burger and friend chicken place and we were intrigued by the menu and decided to give it a try.
We walked in, the place was almost empty with just 2-3 tables occupied. We were seated immediately and getting the atmosphere in. The paintings on the wall and the seating area is different in a very nice way. The seating in very well space, maybe it was due to the Covid restrictions that it was well spread out. The waitress came in to get our order even before we decided what to get. She was sweet enough to explain the menu to us and she came back after 5 minutes to take our order.
We ordered Boneless Korean Fried Chicken ā Honey & Soy ($19), Korean Burger with Fried Chicken and the Black charcoal bun ($17), Paprika Chips ($4.50) and a Korean Soju ($13.50) for a drink. It was our first time trying the Korean Soju and we didnāt realise it would be full bottle all for ourselves, it was a pleasant surprise when it arrived. š
The Boneless Korean Fried Chicken was really tasty and it was cooked to perfection. We were little upset that we didnāt mention to get the sauce on the side for the Fried Chicken, but we werenāt disappointed as it was really good with the sauce on it. The Korean Chicken Burger was juicy and tasty. It went down pretty easy with the Paprika Chips. We had one drink of Soju each on the shot glasses which came along with it. But we were more than happy to take the bottle back with us and enjoy it on a later day at home. We did finish the bottle clean the next day itself. š
Overall, a perfect place for a quick bite and it is cost effective as well. The portions are big enough for a person. We did go there famished but we were more than satisfied when we stepped out of the restaurant. The total bill came to $54 for both of us and we felt it was totally worth it. Will definitely go back for some fried chicken and burger soon. Maybe weāll check out the other interesting stuff in their menu like the Halloumi Chips, Pumpkin Croquettes, Tteok-Bok-Ki (Stir fried Rice cakes & Fish cakes) and also the variety of...

Onion Rings - were ok. Not the best we have had. I know a couple of other places where they do the best onion rings but the ones in this place are also good.
Curried Potato Croquettes - are actually too good. Took us to our own place in India (I don't know how). These were also one of the highlights (first) of the appetisers.
Corn on the cob with paprika and sriracha mayo - is one appetiser i did not think ever that i would rate this highly. But these were so juicy that whenever i took a bite all the juices were up in my nose and is also one of the better appetisers.
Fried chicken - We ordered the chicken wings although the boneless bites looked very tempting and these were very very good although the Traditional Spicy wasnt actually very spicy at all. The sauce was very sweet with traces of chilli powder hotness. Next ti.e would try a different flavour sauce.
But the highlight is the chicken meat was so tender and flavorful that we did eat them without the sauce at all.
The Burger - We had the Koren Burger with the Fried chicken as the meat choice and it was good as well.
The highlight was that the girl who was serving us was so customer focused that she just bought us a replacement burger "free of cost" as she forgot our request to not put the kimchi. Sometimes, acts like these go and push the restaurants into the "best" territory with their customer service.
Drinks - I ordered the kombucha which was ok for a first time try.
My partner ordered the bon bon 'grape' flavour which jad 6 or 7 skinless whole grapes and she finished it before all the food arrived which shows its deliciousness.
As a whole we had a very nice experience witht he service as well as the food. Definitely will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsed a groupon voucher for 2 Ć gourmet burger deals (burger, sea salt chips and a can of doft drink) that were available as a dine in option only. The soft drink was brought out first, then about 5 mins later, the sea salt chips and a small tub of tomato sauce and about 6 or 7 mins later, the burgers were brought out. We bought ordered "Swing" burgers. I liked the chips which I found crispy and tasty but my dining partner found them too well done for his taste. The burgers were not oily and the black bun was intriguing in taste and texture, but although it was okay tasting, I wouldnt rave about the burger but must say it was filling for me as I ate only half before giving the rest to my dining partner to finish. My partner ate his burger and said it was okay tasting but like me, he wouldn't rave about the burger. The venue is large and they have some power points on the wall, so they got an extra star as its a good place to study/work with a tablet/laptop or even to meet friends as you can charge your mobile etc if you have your charger with you. However, the burgers are not cheap ($14.50 and up in price), BUT...the chips are a good price compared to other food venues. The staff were polite but we were the ONLY customers when we first arrived, and even after about 10 minutes, only one other couple came in and sat down on the table next to ours, so it was hard to assess staff service as they were a very long way...
