Having traded with Twisted Zest as a regular customer, I feel it necessary to write a review upon them. Being a regular and repeat customer certainly tells that this business is me very well enough for me to review them.
The Shop: Just recently the shop has made some renovations. This is a great start as the previous reminded me too much of other sandwich franchise which will remain unbeknown. The "Steampunk industriale" renovation is captivating and the usage of the copper pipes into the air-conditioning is quite genius.
The Coffee: Many times I purchased coffee from here. Now the owner certainly makes a strong coffee if you wish that is not bitter however he adjusts carefully over a period of time as he gets to know you your taste and it is often consistent even though he does get busy. This milk never has a skin on it because they use a different but better milk than other cafes.
Recently with the shop upgrade, they added a second coffee machine to ensure quicker service. Something no cafe has done.
The Food: The rolls and sandwiches are marvellous and most of all are value for money. They may charge more but the amounts they put in and the quality of ingredients they have certainly outweigh any cheap sandwich from a milk-bar, bread shop or a pre-packaged from Seven-11. Organic and fresh products they use.
You need to try their burgers and their rub on spiced chicken wings. They are absolutely heavenly. Usually I totally dislike pickles in burgers however this burger the pickle was a great addition.
The Lunch Menu: There are a number of difference items from foccacias to sit down meals which are always well loaded, using quality ingrediants and value for money. They do have a $10.00 specific lunch menu which every item are great tasting and well portioned.
Their Service: It is very hard to rate anoone's service as I would say, "Never judge a person unless you have walked a mile in their shoes". Sometimes they have bad days and sometimes they have wonderful days. What is wonderful is you have an issue and genuinely talk to the manager, the manager is very accommodating.
I personally had one issue that I prefer NOT to discuss openly. When I spoke to him and showed him, he was genuinely shocked at the contents and demanded a not only a refund but gave me a second course for free. Let me remind you that the fault of this issue was not him but his suppliers.
In Retrospect: I have decided to return and I will tell you that should you try this place, you will also return. They work hard in providing great service. Their quality of foods certainly gets my five star...
Read moreI'll just start this out by saying, I went in expecting a casual brunch with my partner, and came out with my entire day made. It truly was a phenomenal experience. Expectations were blown out of the water time and time again.
The service was what really topped this experience. We went in during a quiet ish time and were met with Andrea, a kind and unbelievably considerate woman. We went up to order and unfortunately they had run out of the gnocchi for the pasta. As my partner was craving that dish due to the appetising pictures online, and the description on the menu, this was quite unfortunate. We came up with a plan to ask Andrea, if we could purchase the gnocchi ourselves, bring it back, and still possibly get to eat that dish. She immediately posed the counter offer, that they would go and get it for us specifically, and we wouldn't have to go through with any of that effort. I was taken aback by that response, as I had no intention of asking them to do this for us. She insisted and with guilt in our hearts, we accepted. She mentioned that the food may take a little longer than usual due to running in and grabbing it, but it really wasn't much of a wait at all.
The gnocchi came out and was definitely worth asking for. It was creamy but not too thick, the gnocchi itself was cooked beautifully and again, came out only moments after the other portions of our order.
I ordered "The Porky" which was essentially an eggs Benedict, with pulled pork and hashbrowns. It was delightful. Didn't feel too heavy as it was surrounded by fresh tomato, Spanish onions and avocado pieces. It was a great portion size and overall a delightful dish. (We didn't grab extra because we weren't hungry enough but, adding TWOOOOO HASHBROWNS, not just one, only came to $7. Based on other cafes I've been to, it's been between $5-7 for just one, and these ones were cooked to perfection too.)
We also ordered the Cajun style wedges. They were cooked quite well and seasoned nicely too. Unfortunately the portions of the dip were a little small, but that could also be because my partner and I like to heap it on to each chip for the most flavour.
Over all, we loved it and are more than likely to go back...

The staff are both professional and really friendly and will help you with anything you need.I walk with walking stick and they waited on my every need. We ordered a Chicken Parma and French toast. The parma (breast fillet) was so BIG, served with chips and salad, that it was presented on a HugE round wooden chopping board for ONLY $20! The French toast also was a very generous serve presented with 3 slices of French toast, caramelised bananas and a generous serving of their Wickedly Delightful rich & warm caramel sauce. Accompanying this was 2 scoops of creamy vanilla ice-cream making the serving so large that it needed 2 wooden skewers to hold it all together! I couldn't believe that this was ONLY $15 & would easily be enough for two to share!
