Unico Pizza & Kebab — Restaurant in Melbourne

I'm very conflicted about this. About one month ago I ordered some pizza from here and it was the best pizza I'd had in a few years. Last night I ordered two pizzas delivered, a small and a family. When they were delivered the small box was on of the family sized box. They hadn't placed a white thing in the middle of the pizza (I thought they did when I ordered a month ago) and the lid had been pressed into the pizza. Upon opening the box, all the topping came with the lid and ruined the whole experience. We had toppings dripping off cardboard and bare dough down the bottom.

After picking topping off the lid, we ate what we could. To top it off, both my partner and I had stomach issues through the night with bathroom trips. This was the only common food we'd had since dinner the previous night.

I'm not sure why this experience was so bad. The place is highly reviewed, and even my previous experience was great. Maybe the owner is on holiday? I don't know but it was very disappointing.

Edit: I forgot to add but my partner reminded me. We ordered a BBQ chicken pizza for the kids but wanted it on tomato base. We went to order on Menulog but couldn't change the base so we called the restaurant to place our order specifically so we could ask for a tomato base. That pizza arrived with a BBQ base. Luckily, it was a nice BBQ sauce and the kids enjoyed the pizza. Still not great to make a single request with our order...

This is the first time I have ever given 1-star. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. Ordered online for pick-up thinking I'd get a discount, but didn't get it. Was my fault for not realising had to spend $20. But then I get there and they put cheese on when I asked for no cheese, so had to wait for a new one to be made. Then, got charged $4 extra for gluten free base! That information is not displayed anywhere. I almost changed my mind and left it, but it was late and I had no food at home. Server, who may have been owner, went on about how it costs them almost $4 for each medium base. But, I paid price of large but got medium, which would fit less toppings, plus I didn't get an original base which I actually paid for. Although the pizza was nice, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I won't be back, especially because there are other pizza place options nearby who are more understanding about how to charge for...

Sometime in 2020, I was on my way to work and had planned getting to this pizza store before 10pm. Unfortunately, I couldn't. So I called the reception to let them know that I want to buy a pizza but I won't arrive until 10.30 pm.

The receptionist took down my order and said that they would have closed before I arrive. He instead said that he will help me drop off the pizza at my place of work with my colleagues.

I asked him that how was he gonna get his money. He told me not to worry that he will deliver at my job and I can come and pay him the next day. I was glad that he could trust me and I later went back to the shop a few days after to pay.
