Siriwan Thai Restaurant :: The Simplicity of Thai Food — Restaurant in Melbourne

We have been coming to Siriwan Thai for many years but very disappointed tonight, from the minute we arrived we were rushed to order and continuously rushed through our meal and reminded that restaurant was closing and we needed to leave. Food was nice as always although Massamun curry was a small serve as was the large rice for $10, very poor serve for the prices. Overall disappointed that our carch up with friends for a nice relaxed meal turned out to be a rushed disappointing dinner. I hope this is a one off as when I spoke to staff at the end of the night their reason was they had a train to catch, really!!! I would have thought taking care of patrons would be more important. Food is usually delicious, unfortunately the portions have gotten extremely small. You used to get a full container of food, now it's only 2/3 full at most.

Edit: 18/4. Unfortunately the servings have not improved. Really dissapointing now. Tonight's beef salad barely filled half a container and the beef was particularly tough.

Tried again. Fried Ruce was bland with near on no vegetables. Plus the containers very small to what they used to be. The Larb gai container was only 2/3 full. A third of that was lettuce to make the dish look bigger. Continues to get stingier and more dissapointing. That's their...

Upon reading the menu, there were so many dishes I wanted to try as they sounded mouthwatering.

I settled for the Jungle Duck 🦆. Waitress asked how hot to my prompt reply Thai hot. There is where it was disappointing as it was medium hot at best. Sure my taste buds were having a party but it wasn't a raving party!

The service of the staff - exceptional. Tastiness of the food - fantastic. Portion size of meals - standard.

Will be back to try more of the menu. There is zero doubt here.
