Read moreAttended the watsy rsl on 25/2 to celebrate a family birthday. Been to the rsl many times before.I have 1 year old twins and a 4 year old. Was approached by staff and told to return the twins to their high chairs as they had been walking around playing. It wasn't a request we were told to do so. They were being supervised by adults as they were doing so and were within sight. As expected the twins didn't appreciate being strapped back into their high chairs causing them to scream. I questioned if this was the outcome staff wanted and was told it was a management request to return kids to high chair. Ended up leaving with the twins and leaving remainder of family to have dinner. Not the night out I would have hoped for. Parenting 3 kids let alone toddler twins is hard enough without some 25 year old waitress judging my kids behaviour. Not the same child friendly venue i remember especially because playground is closed due to covid. I assume another genius management decision to keep it closed despite play centres are reopened, all public parks and places like McDonald's have reopened playgrounds. Playgrounds in these sorts of venues are godsends for parents of young children. Raised the issue of the high chairs with management on the night and didn't get an appropriate response just defensive argument for the...

They have a beautiful function room up stairs with a bar perfect for a reception. The meals and drinks packages were very well priced and the food was amazing. The staff were great and professional on the day.
Maree, the functions manager, was amazing to deal with, from organizing the floorplan to handling the detailed dietary requirements of guests. She was super flexible and made sure the evening went smoothly, couldn't be happier with how the reception went.
10/10 would recommend holding a wedding reception at Watsonia RSL to any family or friends getting married in the Melbourne...
