Village Way Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

Really disappointed in my experience here. My sister, my two boys & my self walked in around 2.20pm when my eldest had an accident & I had to go back to my car to change him, leaving my sister with my youngest in the shop. When I returned at 2.35 we noticed the menu said "Kitchen closes at 2.30". No worries we respect that. I double checked with the lady, we couldn't sneak an order through. Kitchen closes promptly at 2.30. Couldn't even order a toastie! My disappointment is, my sister had grabbed menu's & was amusing my youngest, it was clear we intended to order when I returned. It wasn't busy. (Two other couples in there) It would have been nice if the lady had of maybe said, "kitchens closing soon, would you like something?" & my sister could have called me. THUMBS DOWN I bought a Spinach & Ricotta roll for $6, a small coffee for $4.80 and asked for a Croissant with cheese and avocado. I was charged $14.20 for the latter. Unfortunately thing is that a Ham & Cheese Croissant is $8.50, so what they did was is they charged $7.50 for the croissant, $2.50 for the cheese and $4 for the half usage of an avocado. And they are fortunate to have locals getting ripped off like this every day. Certainly a "No Go Zone" for future to my family and friends. I gave that back to the owners to eat it...

As one of our fav locals we visited today for lunch. The ladies are always super lovely and even put aside an apple cake for me to take home (the best!). We usually do eggs from this Cafe, but today we decided to try the burgers.
