Rushed out and drove 1 hour when I heard gordon ramsay posted a pic of his visit here.
Started with their little bites which were good but not wow, loved their spanner crab but crumpet was not crumping. Wouldnt say it is the best lobster roll like the others said.
Entrees took a while to come out, but whilst the tartare had a unique kick and burrata was refreshing, good but not wow.
🦪 oysters 5/5 🦀 spanner crab crumpets 4/5 🦞 lobster roll 3.25/5 🥪 anchovy toast brioche 4.25/5 🥩 beef tartare 3.25/5 🧀 burrata peach heirloom tomato 3.75/5 🍔 wagyu cheeseburger 4.25/5 🥩 rib eye 3/5 🍟 3.5/5 salty but yummy heh 🍷 wine 4/5 🍸 cocktails 3.5/5
Loved how the mains each came with fries, I am a sucker for wagyu cheeseburgers which they did well, but their hyped rib eye lacked that fatty juiciness despite cooking it medium rare. Fries were overly salty but i didnt mind. We pretty much drank that peppercorn and bearnaise sauce.
I wasnt happy with my drink but it wasn’t a bad drink, but if the owner could’ve taken the feedback in a professional way without dismissing my feelings, I would’ve felt at peace in the most beautiful sunsetting city-coded bistro next to the beach.
I would come back for the steak nights and for the good views, but service was rather uncomfortable than disappointing.
Will never hate on the efforts and creativity of this restaurant bc I know how hard they work and plan these openings but I hope my next visit will be more warm welcoming. I made a careful observation and it seemed we were the only ethnic people, but I’m pretty sure it’s because I poorly expressed my drink tasting like “goon” which was wrong choice of words which I did apologise for after he reacted to my comment “that’s not something you should say”. I like my alcohol, but I just wasn’t feeling that drink but after that interaction, I felt super uncomfortable and many times, not attended to. The sommelier’s were all super nice and attentive, but when the owner is not accomodating, it ruins the whole experience. Seems that it wasn’t only us who seemed to have a bad night as a few reviews were left on the Friday we dined 17/01/2025.

Read moreThe place is very good and worth a visit. Definitely gets crowded after 7pm.
Good location with available parking , was easy to park for a booking at 5:30pm, Service is good, Cocktails and food is great too, Total bill for 4 people came to 370$, this is 5 cocktails , 3 mains , and 6 appetisers/starters
On the pictures are some dishes I remember: beef tartare, zucchini appetiser, lobster roll and crab croquette. Amaretto sour and another sour cocktail ( first one under sour section)
However few things that could be better: For a small place , the music was SO loud, making people nearly yell to be heard, I was not able to hear my friend sitting next to me , this has prompt us to leave much earlier as we simply could not have any chat at all. Cheeseburger we ordered came medium rare patty. This was disappointing as we were not warned, nor we were asked how we would like it to be cooked. So do not assume it is cooked, you have to ask yourself. The way we were positioned the sun was hitting us right in the face , while place had a curtain , staff was closing and opening it again and again. Would be reasonable to have it closed when sun goes down as I have spent half dinner covering just my face with my hand.
Overall would definitely recommend if above is taken into...
Read moreOn Friday my husband came to Winston’s for dinner. I was looking forward to trying out this new restaurant. We arrived at 6.30 p.m., the restaurant was pretty full but the noise level was just unbearable. In fact, twice I had to ask the waitress to repeat herself as I couldn’t hear anything, I asked the waitress if the music could be turned down and she replied, she would do so. However, the noise was still high and as I was feeling extremely stressed and uncomfortable we decided to leave the place. We are bayside residents and were happy to have a new restaurant in this area. Most of the people in the restaurant were quite young, and I feel we are the wrong demographics. What a pity, we are the types of clients who can afford going out to restaurants on a regular basis, but obviously you are not interested to cater for us! Obviously, I cannot comment on the food as we didn’t have any! What a disappointment as I was really looking forward to having a pleasant meal. If you want to have a quiet/romantic dinner, this is the...
