We have recently moved into the area and decided to have a night off cooking and treat ourselves to a take away meal. Wong's house is close and had a reasonable looking menu, although the prices were slightly on the high side. I had the sweet and sour combination and my wife had the chicken curry. Delivery was quick and efficient. However, the only way we could tell the two dishes apart was that the curry had a slight yellowish tinge. Other than that, you could not have told the difference by taste. Both had a very watery sauce with absolutely no flavour. I have had some average Chinese meals in the past but this could only aspire to being average. Totally lacking in flavour, both appeared to be swimming in a liquid with the colour and consistency of dirty dishwater. Never having tried drinking dishwater before, I couldn't comment on whether the meal was as tasty as dishwater. The majority of the content was large chunks of vegetable with very little meat in either dish. Neither of us could be bothered persevering after a few spoonfuls. If you are desperate to get rid of your money, go ahead. Otherwise, try one of the several better Chinese restaurants in the area. Maybe we got them on a bad night, but I'm not going to throw away my money to test this possibility. You may notice that I have not posted a review before, but this was so bad, I felt compelled to...
Read moreI ate here last night with 2 other people. I have been here previously and have enjoyed the experience although last night I was throughly disappointed and I hate to say felt treated differently due to being white. In ordering our first dish, we opted for homemade dim sims, they arrived warmbut the outside was extremely chewy. Kind of like they had either been left out in the air or had been microwaved. After some back and forth the waiter replaced with fried dim sum. We ordered a number of dishes for our main: lemon chicken (significantly smaller portion than what we had received before), Szechuan chicken, pepper beef and rainbow beef. We enjoyed these dishes until a table of Chinese/Malay people arrived and demanded a table, we watched as their dishes arrived about 3 times larger than the same dishes we ordered. We felt that we had been treated differently and will not...
Read moreGreat tasting Chinese food. Polite and happy staff! Very clean. Standard decor for typical Chinese restaurant but very clean. *Another great feature is the ability to add e tea ingredients! Eg with the fried rice you can add extra prawns or pork and 'You Decide' how much you want. For example, we get special fried rice with $2 of extra prawns-shrimp & $3 extra pork and it's a meal in itself! To go with that we ask for tubs of sauces in any flavor you like. We get Sweet & Sour & put some on the rice before we heat it up. Before microwaving rice, *akways run your hand under the tap, then flick the water onto the rice & repeat. This ensures that your rice doesn't dry out and makes it all...
