And it came to pass that I, weary traveller of Melbourne’s dessert wilderness, did stumble upon a quiet sanctuary known to locals as Xocolatl of Kew — a quaint dwelling tucked between the stillness of suburban lanes and the whispering trees of gentility 🌳🍂. There, the aroma of cocoa beckoned like a heavenly trumpet, calling lost souls seeking warmth, comfort, and content in liquid form.
Upon entering, I beheld wooden walls and humble chairs, each one crafted as if by patient monks who understood the sacred art of coziness. The barista, charming and radiant of countenance, greeted me with a smile that could melt even the darkest cacao. Truly, temptation took human form that day 😳.
I requested the Spanish hot chocolate, and lo, it arrived — thick, glossy, and reverent in its stillness. I took a sip, and verily, it rolled down my throat like a warm embrace from destiny itself. Smooth as silk, deep as a confession, it clung to the tongue and whispered, “You are safe now, pilgrim.” 🍫🙏
I sat there in silence, surrounded by timber and the faint hum of a coffee grinder that sounded like angels stirring clouds. For a brief moment, I thought perhaps heaven wasn’t paved with gold — but lined with chocolate, one sip at a time.

For the January shipment I returned from overseas to find a box that had been posted on a Friday before 40 degree temperatures on the weekend. Not surprisingly the entire contents were completely destroyed. Upon raising my concerns with the business they told me I could pause my subscription at any time. Suffice to say I cancelled it permanently.
I would think they could apply common sense and not post chocolate on a Friday before a...
Read moreFound this chocolate shop and they made delicious Spanish hot chocolates. However today when I bought a small hot chocolate, I realised that the cup wasn’t full and very empty. When I took it back, I was told that despite purchasing a small and large cup this shop only fills the cup 3/4 full. The person ( female) then filled the small up with just milk and diluted the whole drink. It didn’t taste very nice. It’s the equivalent of buying a large pizza and the shop deciding that they will only give you a medium size. Very disappointed. And surprised that this disclosure about not filling cups is acceptable, but charging for a...
