Could not ask for a better restaurant in the hood. A family restaurant by the previous owners of Tokyo Table in Hawthorn (4yrs) and Bread Kingdom (10yrs) they have created a luxe Japanese all you can eat restaurant with gorgeous atmosphere and fit out. Our 2nd time here - our boys came for a special treat on the wknd but tonight was just mother & son The dishes were sensational. And our waiter Jay the kind who oozes hospitality & fun professionalism The delicate slices of wagyu kept us busy sizzling on the plate at our table. And the new sauce on the crumbed Gyu Katsu a winner. Jay advised us cook times and when to flip and we had a lot of fun self cooking together The salmon sushi:sashimi plate perfect temperature and melt in mouth freshness & fusion Tempura was delightful, maybe a richer thicker sauce to pair would be my only suggestion Chicken karage crisp and portion size awesome Chicken teriyaki skewers (4 per serve) bbq skin yet still moist /tender inside And of course you can’t have Japanese without seaweed & salty edamame Kids cocktails $5.50 and light dry Shiratakai Jozen sake bottle $24.00 The black sesame ice cream a must no matter how full for a tween too A simple table top tag notify system works effectively for when you are ready to order more. Don’t be greedy & over order as 1) not cool as Tte servings and portions are in the customers favour to begin with and 2) there’s a t&c for a surcharge if plate has 200g+ wastage Seriously I shout out this restaurant to the whole of Boroondara as a must… I just hope I can get a booking when I next want to it’s best kept secret especially at opening price of $50 all you can eat (and less for kids!) Beat that! Oh and make sure to leave a tip $ the F&B staff front & BOH deserve it Kanpai

We came here for Mother's Day lunch and had no regrets. We were seated immediately at our table, and we were informed that we had 90 minutes to order our food (AYCE). This place serves DIY BBQ wagyu, ala-carte dishes such as salmon and sushi platter, katsu, gyoza, chicken kaarage, pork and chicken skewers and plenty more. Every table has a little hibachi to cook the wagyu. The meat served was very fresh and extremely tasty. The gyu katsu was top notched as well - eaten as is or cooked on the stove. The egg plant dish is not to be missed - savoury, sweet, and umami. The katsu was very well fried, not too oily and well presented with the curry sauce on the side. Despite serving our orders to our neighbouring table, the waitresses fixed the error, and the food came promptly. The only concern was that there wasn't much ventilation in the restaurant. We all smelled like BBQ beef when we left. The boss lady was very accommodating and super friendly. For AYCE @ $50 per person, this place beats all other restaurants that offer the same concept. I would definitely recommend bookings as it was a full house. There was sufficient parking on the roadside.

Everything was amazing, down to the smallest detail. Came a day before Valentine’s Day to celebrate it with my partner. We were unfortunately 17 minutes late due to PTV but the owner / manager was so sweet with trying to accomodate us, and she even gave us a small decorative flower which was so thoughtful. The food was amazing. Absolutely delicious, fresh and honestly melt-in-your-mouth. Each dish came out so quickly which helped us enjoy each dish together. Our servers were just as impeccable where they were immediately there to grab our orders and take away the finished plates or bring us a new bottle of water. The staff were so kind and patient with us that I’m so surprised how we didn’t find this place sooner! Huge kudos to the staff for making the entire experience so memorable The atmosphere was perfect as well. The lighting was slightly dim, perfect for a date, and the music fit so well with the entire vibe of the restaurant. It is a perfect place to spend Valentine’s Day or a date with someone here.

We came with a group booking for 6 and our table was just getting cleaned when we arrived so had a bit of a wait but no dramas. I didn’t mind the moody ambiance of this restaurant, it felt intimate. Staff were under the pump but our table service although slow was still satisfactory - totes to friendly staff who still took the time to recommend certain menu items worth trying. Look I guess you can’t complain much for an all you can eat charging only $50pp which includes wagyu and sashimi. You’d get a whole lot less these days anywhere else so it’s great value for money that’s for sure. I thought the quality of meat was equivalent to exactly what you pay for - fair, nothing exceptional but not bad. I was actually looking forward to the Gyukatsu most but it fell short for me, just wasn’t that tasty. I did however enjoy the standard salmon sashimi, Takoyaki and pork teriyaki skewer. Overall it was worth a try.

This is a fantastic new Japanese all you can eat restaurant right in Kew, opposite the Harp. The atmosphere is amazing and Japanese like setting with plenty of seating available. The service is spectacular and staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful. The food is all delicious and mouthwatering. Try the salmon range, the sushi, and if you love beef, pork, chicken, this is the right place for you as you can go for seconds and thirds. For $50 per person all you can eat, you can’t really go wrong with this amazing place. The place only takes bookings but it is easy to book, so even if you are one person, you still need to book and it is open on Wednesday to Sunday evenings. However, I would heartily recommend a visit to this fantastic restaurant, especially if you like Japanese food, you are in the right place, or if you wish to try Japanese food, you have also come to the right place.

5 stars all around! Even though the menu is limited compared to other Japanese AYCE, the quality of each item was stellar. I’ve been wanting to find a place that rivals Gyukatsu restaurants in Japan and Yaki Jin does just that with the meat available in Japan at a fair price. I was skeptical but surprised to find that the sushi was fresh and well handled too. My partner even said it beat some sushi trains we’ve been to. Not to mention the yakitori was some of the best I’ve had. Important as food is, I have to give the staff a special mention for their hospitality. They were very attentive with ordering and efficient in clearing up accidents, going out of their way to ensure our comfort even when it was so busy. Had the chance to chat to the lovely owner and it’s clear she takes a lot of pride in her restaurant. It’s a shame I don’t live closer because otherwise I’d be a regular. ごちそうさまでした 😊
