Very disappointed with this venue. Attended early evening about 6.30pm for dinner. Ordered the salmon nicois salad...one of the blandest salads I have ever had, and served with a Ceasar salad dressing. The salmon was very undercooked, so asked them to rectify the problem which meant my friend had finished their meal by the time mine came out again. My friend ordered the steak which tased good, but for the prices we were very dissapointed. The young man who served us was lovely however. Later in the evening, we returned to attend the gaming venue. Obviously responsible service of alcohol is not something they take seriously, as there was a group of young males in the venue who were clearly very intoxicated and we're having the most obnoxious and offensive conversations at such a loud volume, after 10 minutes we had had enough and decided to leave. Upon leaving, I made a complaint to the Staff about the appalling behaviour of the young men, and the fact that they had not been cut off being served drinks or asked to leave the venue. The staff did not seem to care very much about their behaviour or the complaint I had made, saying that "yeah we have spoken to them already." Pardon my ignorance, but If they had already been asked to quiet down once, yet had not done so, why were they still aloud to continue to be in the venue with such disgusting behaviour? They were talking about dealing drugs from the smoking section of the venue as well as using very derogatory language towards women. Very dissapointed that nothing was done about this and the males were still aloud to be drinking and gambling in the venue. Will not be going back there...
Read moreWell, probably add one of the worst evenings at the Harp Hotel tonight, we arrived at 6:40, and we ordered the lamb cutlets, pork roast of the day, the parmigiana, in the chicken and mushroom pie,l from the specials board, and we didn't get our food to at least an hour and a half later, my friend was so upset he handed the parmigiana back, because they could not give us sufficient excuse as to why the food was so late, it was extraordinary, the pork roast and the lamb cutlets I'm not exceptional but was was certainly good enough, and for me the chicken pie was very nice, but my wife's pork roast the day had more mashed potato and peas also had carrots which mine could have too, than what I had , it is hard to explain actually, whilst the Pie was served Hot I did feel that the mashed potato and peas and the gravy on it, was not sufficiently hot, it was just barely warm enough which frankly I can do a lot better at home here than that, this is really good enough especially for the prices that are charged nowadays, I do feel something was decidedly wrong this evening, as it is not normal, as we are regulars there, but just maybe we might have to reconsider that and maybe have to find somewhere else until they get their act together here. It certainly spoilt our whole...
Read moreWhat a disappointment. Read all the menu on allergy information. It said the kitchen was very good with allergies although a small risk of cross contamination possible but what a joke the chef was. Being coeliac I asked about the gluten free grilled fish and chips. Asked if the chips were deep fried with other battered food. Barman wasn't sure and checked with chef who said food is only gluten friendly. Didn't want to risk chips as he couldn't give me a straight answer. Ordered chicken scallapini which was marked GFO. The barman came over 5mins later to tell me the chef said they use the same flour in their non gluten free food and gluten free food. What does that mean i asked. Is there flour in the chicken that is not GF and why is it marked GF. I asked if I could speak to chef to clarify if I could eat it. He went to chef who didn't realise I was standing in ear shot. The chef said he was not interested in speaking to me. What awful rude behaviour. I would have left immediately but we were guests of another lady. I am reporting this hotel to the coeliac society. Do not go if you have any allergies as they treat it as a joke and...
